View Full Version : Went to an acura TL launch last night. Wing 10-16-2003, 05:38 PM Nice car! They had 2 of them one with navi one without. I have a bunch of pictures, but have to run out right now. Here's one of them. Wing 10-16-2003, 05:40 PM Here's another close up of the blue, it's low too! Wing 10-16-2003, 05:40 PM And I'm particularly found of the dash it's nice! Wing 10-16-2003, 05:41 PM Here's another for good measure. mikeb 10-16-2003, 05:42 PM very nice damn it looks like a real nice "winning" blue English 10-16-2003, 06:06 PM If I were gonna throw a party for a car, I'd make sure the tires were clean. Details, man. Details!!! Wing 10-16-2003, 06:15 PM It's MUCH darker than winning blue almost black. Yeah I agree not sure why they didn't shine the wheels, I think it was the cold and the rain storm we were having and the fact they probably just came off the truck. mikeb 10-16-2003, 06:47 PM I like the gauges and interior but I think the exterior is kinda plain OldCodger 10-16-2003, 08:56 PM The blue looks brighter than the photo in person, but it's not close to Winning Blue. Interior materials in the one I sat in looked nice. Seats were great but the access to the rear seat limited. Older TL had a large opening for your feet. This one has joined the trend to a sharp slant on the trailing edge of rear door with a very short opening at the bottom. Spouse rejected it for hauling elderly relatives so I did not test drive it. MSRP appeared about $6K over the TSX without that much value added. Wing 10-16-2003, 09:04 PM Not much value added? I guess it depends on what you consider value ;) V6 with 270hp! Nicer interior, bigger wheels/tires, bigger car, 5.1 DTS and DVD-Audio! That alone has me sold.... if I was into bigger cars that is. I couldn't sit in the back I had to fight just to get near the damn thing. pelucidor 10-16-2003, 09:42 PM I test drove one last week - the dealership had 5 in stock. I was told that the 6MT models would not be out until November. Same for models with NAV. Perhaps I should do a writeup of the drive... OldCodger 10-16-2003, 09:48 PM It is a nice car and probably worth the MSRP but the TSX is already over my $25K US limit. The nice features added by the TL are of low value to me. I think the car should sell well. I did not even know the TL was available until I stopped at the Acura dealer. They had three displayed on the platform circling the show room and less than one couple per car looking at them. Very low key intro compared to the way the same dealer handled the TSX. I rejected the TSX for too small an engine in favor of the Accord V6 with 240 HP for less money. Until I drove the Honda. Honda has enough power but even the wife felt steering was not acceptable for the power available. You have to be able to keep it between the ditches to go in a straight line. At my price range it appears the TSX or last year's TL may get revisited. My daily driver is a MX5 so I can live with less HP. |
