its been about 600 miles.. and I DONT WANNA LOOSE THE smell inside the RX8. people love getting into it... still has that sweet new car smell

anyone know how to preserve it!

There's no trick, it's the smell of glue, cleaner, polish, and leather depending. All available cheap everywhere. :)

grrrrr this is my first new car and i love it!!! ive always boguht used cars and never gotten to enjoy the whole new car sent!

Close the doors, seal them and the vents with tape, and never drive it again. :D Seriously though, Car and Driver just did an article about the new car smell: how manufacturers actually study the smell to please customers. The article mentioned that the smell has changed in the past few years as manufacturers switched to better plastics with less outgassing.

Replace your RX-8 with a new one every six months. :D

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, eat french fries in the car.... I did that 2 weeks later still smells like vinegar and grease, I was only in the car for 5 minutes!

DO, put a sheet of bounce under the seat that seems to help. If you have leather it should smell for a long time.
