Hi there,

After three months of waiting I finally drove my 8 home last night. What can I say? Just repeate what has been said a million times: I am having a blast driving this piece of art!

Still have to install a couple of things:
- exhaust finishers
- aldehyd filter
- shock sensor
- night lights
- mirror lights
- Sirius radio
- rotaty accents (don't have them yet)
- aluminum power window switches

Just wanted to share,
Erik

I don't have the factory ones. I will simply by some nice looking LED sockets and will mount them with blue LEDs in them where the factory ones would go. It'll look just as nice...

What about the strakes??? gotta have em, that's the best accessory, IMO.

I haven't decided on those yet. Initially, I did not like them. Now as I have seen on cars I think I am getting used to them and may even grow to like them. I know you, Squidward went to art school, so do you think they would go nicely with the green?

how about some winter tires. you're probably going to need them in minnesota.

Yes, RX-GR8, you are right. We have pretty bad winters here. First I am gonna see how the stock ones handle and if I am not satisfied I will get a set of winter tires.

Hopefully my 3 month wait will be over next week! I like the strakes...try that option. Have fun with your new car!!!

I agree, being that they are polished aluminum, you couldn't get more neutral than that ;) The cars color will reflect off of them also.

Today I saw the Chyrsler Crossfire on 405 on my way to work and I must say it looks alot better in person than from the pictures.

I initially didn't like it, but seeing it up close, it looks really cool. It looks pretty low to the ground (looking at it in my rearview mirror as it passed).

The rear certainly won't please everyone, but the same goes for the RX8's front end. Eitherway it definitely turned *my* head...

The back spoiler is a very thin looking "panel" that comes up on small arm with a joint/hinge.. Doesn't look too bad.

Anyway I bring this up because the strakes on Crossfire are far more integrated into the design than the RX8. I think it looks fantastic, as good or better than the 500SL strakes... RX8's strakes are great too, but is more of an after thought than part of the original RX8 design (otherwise they would have included it).

And please put up some pictures. There aren't that many pictures of the green 8's, especially close-up. I'm thinking hard about getting mine in green. Also, did you get the appearance package? I have yet to see the ap on a green car.

lets see if I can upload a picture- mine's green with the appearance package and spoiler. Normally, I have a bunch of pics on the web, but we're having some internet problems right now.

Erik, congrats! Hope you like the color as much as you thought you would!

Here's a closeup of the color- but this isn't quite right still, because it's got green, blue, and purple in it. I have better pictures but they're too big to upload here.

Thanks Elara! That's one nice ride ;) That may just be the top contender for my choice of color. First I have to get that job though :) I just had my thesis defense though so at least I'm a doctor, if only one of the useless kind :)

Too lazy right now, especially since they'll be back up on the web within a few days. :) The two I posted were already cropped, which is why I could post them.

Thanks for the comments.

Elara: Yes, I like the green the best. I had been waiting to see the green in person for about a months after I had seen all the other colors.. I just had to see all colors before I decided and placed my order. For some reason, I had always had the feeling that I was gonna get the green, however. I don't know why. Then when I saw that green was the rarest color then I made up my mind. Oddly enough, the first time I held an RX8 brochure in my hands I immediately said to myself: "No way I am gonna get the green and that ugly brown interior" And look what I got... green/chapparal and i love this combo! Anyways, I am absolutely happy with my choice.

Rabinabo: I'll take some shots once I have all my accessories installed. Unfortunately, my rotary accents are on back order from Japan. I did not get the appearance package. Here is why... I think the car is sporty enough with just the spoiler. The app would make it even sportier and more agressive BUT at the same time it would make the car loose some of its elegancy. This car being elegant and sporty makes it very unique and IMO classy. I want to keep it that way.

Awesome! Thanks Erik. I can definitely respect that, it looks classy without the appearance package. I think the ap does give it that extra oomph without overdoing it like most body kits. Once I was tempted by these ricey body kits, but now most of them look ugly to me not to mention impractical.

That green/chapparral (?) combo would look great I think. Although I don't want to get the whole GT package, so I've been looking at the aftermarket seat covers on katzkin.com. They look like a great alternative.
