After complaining to Canzoomer about the volume on the beeper , the rx8 SAGE has looked into the matter with his apprentice side kick Docctor .
They have found out that the beeper is a peizo electric buzzer .operating of 5 volts its located behind the instrument cluster in the dash .
They are currently tryng to see if they can increase its volume .
Congratulations are in hand for the rx8 mavericks who continuesly explore the boundaries and the hidden treasures of the rx8 . HOORAY HOORAY HOORAY keep up the good work.
The discussion is happening here:

Increasing the volume on the beeper is my next project once I fit my front grille.

Get me a pic of WHERE EXACTLY it is up under there, and I'll fix it straight away. Just haven't been able to locate it exactly.

Yeh, all we need is the signal.
As a one off, how about a custom dash mounted black forest cuckoo clock that say's "change gear" ???
(L&L could source them for us from Montville :D)
But seriously - a bright LED and a better beeper wired to a small solenoid from the original circuit is no big shakes.

You know you can get 5V piezos up to 95dB..... how loud do you need this thing :)

MIKE B , Ibroke your record for one liners .HA HA HA .
Actually I'm thinking of inverting the circuit as well as incorporating feedback form the oil temperature... once it's nice and warm... beeps until you redline :D ;)

It should really adjust for ambient noise like the stereo. I very much doubt POSE would provide an easy way to hook up the sensors though...
