Hi all,

Well it is time to change my tires. What do you think? Toyos T1-R or PZERO ROSSO? Which tire is ligher? I guess that someone that has tried both tires would help a lot !!!

Concerning price difference it is not so high so I am looking for the best tire.

Thanks

Shouldn't this be in the tire section? Anyways, I have T1-R's and they're awesome. I highly recommend. I'm not sure which one is lighter though but T1-R's are the standard for high performance tires.

I would expect the Toyos T1-R to be rated as an Extreme Performance Summer tire. And the Pirelli PZero Rosso to be rated as a Maximum Performance Summer tire. The difference being the ability to work in wet conditions. The Toyo would be better in dry contritions, but not so good in the wet. The Pirelli to be good in dry but, better in the wet.

Well concerning wet toyo seems to handle better as I have read in some reviews. However, I need some people with RX-8 to tell me their own experience with toyos and Pzero Rosso.

I'd highly recommend the Toyo's, they have amazing wet performance which I did not expect. I run a 285 width T1-R in the rear and have no problems in heavy rain storms. I have never had a Pirelli, but from what I've seen they are very overpriced and underperform expectations in most reviews I've read.

I guess that nobody tried PZERO ROSSO and T1-R so that he can compare them

Toyo T1-R are supposed to be amazing. My buddy had the older T1-S on his supra and those were superb (dry and wet). But the T1-R has a harder compound, so in theory should be not as good in the wet. Maybe you would have to drive it hard in wet conditions to notice - I am not sure. Regardless, I would go Toyo. Good luck

Just faced this same question and I went with the Toyo T1-R
