Does Oxygenated fuel hurt MPG?

Here in Oregon, they switch to Oxygenated (10% Alcohol I think) fuel in Late October/early November.

Anyone know if I should expect worse MPG?
What about Performance?

Right now I am using the middle octane (89) fuel with no knocking issues, will there be any expected Knocking/octane issues with the Oxy Fuel?

Thanks
Rick

Hi, the 10% ethanol blend will drop your mileage slightly due to lower energy content. Power goes down in theory but may go up depending on the engine's condition. Cooler weather makes most of the winter drop in gas mileage. Ethanol is very very political with tax cuts. Nebraska has refinery sized ethanol production facilities. California's ex gov Davis said it did NOT help lower polution in new cars. I can argue both sides, BUT ethanol does reduce oil dependence with 1 of every 10 gallons being from the farmer
