Tire Help Please

i ordered some rims a few days ago, now i need to order some tires.

i am having a difficult time in deciding which size to go with

rim size is

18 x 8.5 front 35mm
18 x 9.5 back 45 mm

what tire size would best fit the set up?

would 225/40/18's be ok on the front? or should i go for another size?

and the back i was thinking 265/35/18 or 255/45/18... could someone please help me out and explain the difference? maybe some pictures... i would like to order the tires today.

thanks

Check tire rack to see what they have and in what size. Why do you want to stagger your tire sizes? Do you have a turbo or something that requires you to need bigger tires in the back to put more power down. If not go with the same size all the way around. Otherwise it will mess with your handling and balance.

Check www.tirerack.com

You can put in your vehicle and they can recommend a tire size. For winter tires I recommend a taller narrower tire for better snow traction.

I have Dunlop M3 wintersports. 215/55/17 The taller narrower tire is better in the snow than the lower profile wider tire.

You should be able to run a 245/40/18 or 255/40/18 all around.

I ran 245/40-18 on all for corners no problem. I now have 265/35x18 on an 18x8.5 with a 35mm offset. On all 4 corners. It's close but it works. And the car is lowered 1.25"s.

His latest post was about winter tires. I agree with you guys for summer tires but for winter I think he should go with a 215/55 for better snow traction.
