DarkBrew 09-17-2007, 10:27 AM I'm in Montreal right now!! eug 09-17-2007, 12:27 PM why would anybody go ? is there a meet there or something? http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=126425 http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=125993 TurboEight 09-17-2007, 01:11 PM hmmm interesting..... but should i take the 8 for a long drive like that..hmm. torx8 09-18-2007, 05:45 PM You definitely should. All I'm looking for is an excuse for a long drive. Last one was to Chicago, 890km, had a great time, RX is fantastic on a long drive. And Montreal is great as well, I haven't been there in quite some time. Time for a visit. So I'm going, if there's anyone else let me know, we could organize a group. Rems31 09-18-2007, 05:52 PM My friends are going there for a bday celebration. But I'm going to Niagara on friday and staying overnight. With the high CAD maybe I'll go across and do some shopping... Drove mine a little over 1000kms from Miramichi NB, to Ottawa, ON... On the day after I bought it... lol Was an absolute joy to drive even though the entire cabin was full of stuff I was bringing with me since I was moving lol eug 09-18-2007, 10:38 PM Drove mine a little over 1000kms from Miramichi NB, to Ottawa, ON... However when I bought it, she already had 79,400kms on it ;) torx8 09-20-2007, 02:46 AM I guess I'll be going alone... In that case I might give up, I'm afraid it's not going to be fun... eug 09-20-2007, 08:55 AM I guess I'll be going alone... In that case I might give up, I'm afraid it's not going to be fun... Have you been to Montreal before? You could always just make it a weekend getaway too, drive up friday, head out to the event saturday, then take in the city that night. Montreal bagels alone are worth the drive. GoesLikeStink 09-20-2007, 09:14 AM Have you been to Montreal before? Even if people have been to Montreal before I can think of a few hundred other things that would make the 5 hour drive more worthwhile than getting there and sitting in a parking lot for the day with 6 RX7s and 4 RX8s. Montreal is a great city, but that would be a wasted drive. Sorry, don't want to offend anyone but there would have to be an impressive list of events to get me to drive that far for a day spent in a parking lot. torx8 09-20-2007, 10:23 AM Hey, I'm not talking about a day spent in aparking lot, I said that's an excuse. I'd go there for an hour, see who shows up, maybe meet some cool people, and than hit the town for the rest of the day. There are grat BnB's downtown Montreal, and since it's off season, they're mostly available. I''ve been to Montreal many times, I've done this before. But I guess I'm the rare one who actually likes to drive the RX8. I've driven to Manhattan for a coffe and than driven back the next day. It's all about the trip. I was just confused as I thought the sole reason for driving all that way was for the meet ;) But I guess I'm the rare one who actually likes to drive the RX8. I've driven to Manhattan for a coffe and than driven back the next day. It's all about the trip. Ha ha...excellent, hope it was good coffee. No you are not rare at all, I'd assume most people on this forum love to drive the 8. nik 09-20-2007, 11:42 AM 6 RX7s and 4 RX8s. There were a lot more cars than that last time, some really nice modded ones as well. rx7sp 09-21-2007, 10:42 PM Sorry guy's to disapoint you but this is one of the biggest meets of eastern Canada last year we got RX4's, RX7's all gens, RX8's total of 60 + cars Even Mazda Canada is in this meet with us if it was not worth the drive I do not think we would have such a success and would certainley not have people from Ottawa, Toronto, Beauce, NJ...... BTW all that attended at the last event said that they would not miss it in the future It's an invitation and not an obligation but you will miss out if you do not come and it's free (except for the karting at the end of the meet) Hope to see you J-P RX7SP torx8 09-22-2007, 01:59 AM I'll go for sure. See you there. |
