I know Ferrari does, because Shell paid them big *bucks*

I just got a case of this, cheap, 20 bux for six 1 quart bottle in a box.

and just pour it into my brother's altima SE-R

Im think, it doesnt look that bad. and its cheap, and its Full Synthetic ! :) :lol2:

I know the Enzo "requires" Shell oil, but if I remember correctly it cost somewhere around $20/qt.

Shell makes really good oil, atleast with their Diesel oil. One of the higher recommended diesel oil's out there.

I use Pennzoil Platinum 5W20 in all my vehicles - it is a very well respected group III oil with great wear numbers on BITOG.

While there are many good oils out there, PP is a lot of oil for the money as you can find it a Advance Auto every few months for Buy-One-Get-One (BOGO) which equates to about 2.50-3$/quart. I use the BOGO's to stock up.

Well, I know about the PP is part of grp III oil a while ago.

but I just cant find any information about this *Shell* brand Full Synthetic oil ... like which group is it, anybody know ?

When I pour it today it was a bit like Mobil1 Oil but a bit thinner, color is a bit lighter than Mobil1.

So when you say "Pennzoil Platinum" you mean "Yes, I do use Shell Synthetic" right?

Shell owns Pennzoil, Quaker State, and it's own branded oils.

Their order of quality is generally in that same order with the exception of the Shell Rotella series and Shell Helix series (which is the one used by Ferrari), which are fine oil series in their own right, but speciality oils within the "Shell" brand.

While there are similarities within the brands, the are not identical oils and are sold as Premium (Pennzoil), Quality (QS), and Discount (Shell) in general.

Thus the Shell Full Synthetic is a good oil, as it has to pass all the SM requirements anyways, but likely not quite as good as Pennzoil Platinum. Shell Helix is very, very good Group IV/V combo oil and is likely as good or better than PP.
