Hi all. Sorry if i seem stupid here, but I have a question about my alignement/wheels/steering.

When I drive straight, my steering wheel is position sliightly left of center. I usually like my steering wheel to be bang on in the center but is it normal for it to be slightly to the left? Is my alignment out?

If so, would you recommend taking it to Mazda to have them align my steering?

yes your alignment. probably toe.

 

is it like that when the road is completely flat? mine is sometimes like that when the road has a crown shape in certain parts

 

I drive mostly on highways and so apart from the median, there is a slight angle to the road - i wouldnt say it is completely flat.

 

If this has been going on for a good while you might be able to tell from the wear pattern on the tires. If they have a distinct feathered edge to the tread your toe is probably off. It wouldn't hurt to make sure everything is aligned though. Any decent alignment shop can do one for something like $60-80.

 

I thought I would let you all know that I went to the Mazda dealer this morning to get my alignment checked. My alignment was out slightly (not too much to worry) but enough to wear the tires. Got my car re-aligned and what a difference!
