I purchased a jex smartchip for my rx8 and it is suppose to connect into the IAT sensor.. the instructions on how to install are here at http://www.dikkydo.com/jexracing/install.htm .. I installed it and reconnected the battery and everything was fine.. After I turned the car off and wanted to test it out for a testdrive, the check engine light is coming on now.. Has anyone tried to install anything like this before? Am I installing it in the right place? I connected it in the AIF sensor (or at least i think).. it has two wires coming out like in the diagram.. Thanks for the help!:banghead:

Whats that suppose to mean? I tried these chips because everyone that bought one said they were good. Might not be for the rx8 but it was worth a shot. I am really not a big believer in these things but oh well. Still if anyone has had any success let me know. thanks.

Nothing that can't be fixed with a simple disconnecting the battery and taking the chip out.. everything is fine now.. luckily i can get my money back.. nothing to get all excited about.. thanks for the sarcasm and tips..

Well............unfortunate for you that I'm sure someone is gonna quote you in their signature. Live and learn. Good thing there is no apparent damage.

Yeah, if you show the willingness and common sense to do some reading and then searching and ask the questions the right way, everyone is pretty helpful.
Not that you did anything wrong. Again, you just can't take the internet too personal anyway............everyone gets flamed now and then. It does make some interesting reading sometimes.

stop shopping on ebay without research.......we all use it.....but only when we know what we are looking for....the snake oils will do nothing but cause more trouble

haha yea i had to pay $1840 cuz my PCM got erased when i was installing the int-x. i still dont know what happened haha cuz scott said that it doesnt and cant erase the PCM. but yea man if you dont know much about the part specifically for the rx8, dont try to install it unless you have a lot of experience tuning haha.

cmon guys, I actually had one of these on my car, they actually do work, they improved my gas milage by atleast 500%, I didn't even have to put in gas after a while anymore...........my car was just.......pwnage, I mean, after a while, it decided, wtf I'm not gonna haul human's asses around to places anymore.

so after a while, the chip just told my car to stop running

great chip guys! just make sure your car is not as stubborn as mine
