Anybody seen picture around the forum with color matched vented hoods? I really dont want a black hood even though it would tie in well with the wheels.

If you do get a black CF hood get a CF trunk too :)

it is CF but that purely coincidental. Im getting it off a forum member because my AC is so weak i want to try to lose some under hood heat (very debated, i know) And frankly im not a fan of a white car with a black hood. Its hard enough trying to be taken as a professional at work when your only 25, the last thing i need is for my car to start looking like im a punk street racer.

If i could get a stock hood and have it modified for the same price i would do it in a heartbeat.

again the point is the vents, i could careless about the insignificant weight savings of carbon over our aluminum hood, clearly stated by having a large stereo adding 50+ pounds.

OT but which front lip is that?

As for cooling there is a thread about this. I believe they some how raised the rear of the hood which made quite a bit of difference.

mikeb has a vented / cf / painted hood. I think it would look awesome if you painted it white to match

Yeah carbon hoods and trunks are generally pretty ugly IMO. the weight savings the provide doesnt even justify the cost.

Just go with the Fiber Glass Version if you can.

a new fiberglass vented hood would still not be as cheap as i am getting this one.

As for the coling thread i have already removed the weather stripping but am not willing do risk permanent deformation with the foam under the rear of the hood solution. Worst comes to worst i just have to leave the carbon one on a few months of there year even if it is painted.

I'm not really sure what the question is? Of course you can paint it, and if you paint it your factory color, it will look a stock hood (with vents).

it wasnt so much a question if you could, but a question of if anyone had any pictures for reference
