View Full Version : What you guys think of this RX-8??? (pic) RX - 8 03-11-2002, 02:47 PM i got this off a thread on the rx7 forum., i think it looks really nice http://www.rx7club.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=498952 Jerome81 03-11-2002, 05:17 PM Man, I'm sorry but I can't see the pic. RX - 8 03-11-2002, 05:22 PM hmm, it loaded before, oh well here it is Johnny 03-11-2002, 05:24 PM That looks very nice, i wish they would look like that out of the showroom RX - 8 03-11-2002, 05:32 PM thats what i was thinking..and that would almost eliminate the rice factor totally Jerome81 03-11-2002, 07:11 PM Wow. I think that looks horrid. Dazz 03-11-2002, 07:14 PM Originally posted by RX - 8 thats what i was thinking..and that would almost eliminate the rice factor totally Looking at the picture, I thought that WAS the rice facter  RX - 8 03-11-2002, 09:45 PM really??, i actually thought it looked nice....much beefier then the stock version my03_rx8 03-11-2002, 10:12 PM ill take three liondogs 03-12-2002, 07:07 AM To me it looks a little ricey  but to each his own. KrisA 03-12-2002, 08:27 AM yuk. totally overdone. PS - I've never seen *any* bodykit for *any* car that looks better than stock imo. I like the looks of a clean stock body car with a nice set of +1 sized alloy wheels. JGard18 03-12-2002, 10:13 AM hmm...what do I comment on? the lousy photoshop job, or the horriddness of that "kit"? Johnny 03-12-2002, 03:35 PM This is all a matter of taste and opinion, IMO it looks real nice and there's nothing on that picture that makes it "ricey" the only thing that comes close to it is that wing, which dosen't look too bad. If the car came out like that out of the showroom it would be a 100% purchase for me, its not rice, rice= ridiculous sized wing that hurts car's performance, stickers advertising mods you *don't* have, annoying and huge coffe canned mufflers, horridious paint jobs with weird writings, neon lights, altezza lights, huge wheels that hurt 1/4 times, fake cross drilled rotors, fake badges, springs being cut to make car lower, fake gauges that don't do anything, turbo hoods on n/a cars, and i could go on forever.....a rice car is a wanna-be good performing with "mods" that hurt the car....I've seen many FD's with body kits does that make them "rice"? even if they run 9's? Here's an FD with a "body kit", this car runs 9's but that dosen't matter since it has a "body kit" its just another ricer RX - 8 03-12-2002, 04:49 PM I'm gonna have to go with Johny on the definition of rice, IMO the car looks good stock, but like this it looks way better!! Elara 03-12-2002, 09:12 PM My goodness- I think that kind of kit on an RX-8 would make it a little impractical and a little silly looking- but perhaps that's just me... And hello, to anyone that cares- I've been lurking for a while but was to chicken to post anything! :) nt5k 03-13-2002, 07:10 PM looks like crap.. says 'pay attention to me.. my mommy never did' 91vert 03-13-2002, 10:04 PM too ricey......why butcher a beautiful thing.. FritzMan 03-14-2002, 07:42 AM I want to second KrisA, word for word. IMO, if I wanted a spoiler like that, I'd buy a plane. There's a lot more to be said to having a bigger bite than bark. rotary8 03-15-2002, 01:36 AM i am not here to start a flame war, so to be modest, i like to have my rx8 in its original, simple, clean beautiful form connie RX - 8 03-15-2002, 11:33 PM ohh well, i still like it :D Johnny 03-16-2002, 11:58 AM Originally posted by RX - 8 ohh well, i still like it :D Yeah me too, do you have a link to that Rx7forum thread about this rx-8 with that kit? NOTA V6 03-16-2002, 05:29 PM Originally posted by RX - 8 thats what i was thinking..and that would almost eliminate the rice factor totally That's funny, because I was thinking "pass the soy sauce". :D I see a big honkin' wing and a highly stylized air dam, and I think "rice". Sorry. :) What is ricey about the RX-8 at the auto shows that there is a "rice factor" to be eliminated? No thanks to this stuff or anything like it coming standard. This car needs to target the masses, not the performance freaks. Of course if you want this stuff on your car, there is always the aftermarket. ;) RX - 8 03-19-2002, 10:47 PM i think that it gives the rx8 a nice aggressive stance, something that the imports need. 99% of imports dont look mean at all, mostly because they arent..but the rx8 on the other hand is going to be an extremly mean car..and i think that it should be shown spwolf 03-20-2002, 02:39 PM Originally posted by RX - 8 i think that it gives the rx8 a nice aggressive stance, something that the imports need. 99% of imports dont look mean at all, mostly because they arent..but the rx8 on the other hand is going to be an extremly mean car..and i think that it should be shown you can always get firebird ;-) NOTA V6 03-20-2002, 07:05 PM BWA-Hahahaaahaahaaa!! >Coke spurting out of nose< :D RX - 8 03-21-2002, 09:20 PM Originally posted by spwolf you can always get firebird ;-) firebird??...trans am looks much more aggresive...but i dont like either...the rx-8 plus an agressive stance = perfect rej 03-22-2002, 11:35 PM Actually this picture makes me think twice about buying an rx8... I have always wanted an rx7 but with the reliability issues, its not worth it IMO. So i was thinking about heading to the Honda Dealership for an s2000 when suddenly I heard about rx8 and the 350z.. its hard to choose, but with this showing what can be done with an rx8, I'll probably be the proud owner of an rx8 when they come out.. MazdaNut 03-23-2002, 09:05 AM Please...save the fried rice for the Honda's  Johnny 03-23-2002, 03:29 PM Body kits are not rice  NOTA V6 03-23-2002, 04:56 PM But that big friggin' wing is, and the fact that it looks slammed with a highly stylized air dam, AND has the spider web wheels. Mainly the wing, but when you add it all up, it makes my want a side of egg rolls. ;) The picture makes the ground effects look chromed. I'm sure that was not intended, but it also lends a few sprouts to the already abundant fried rice ingredients. :D Johnny 03-23-2002, 07:48 PM I'm talking about body kits in general, they are not rice! that Rx-8 pic was photoshopped i'm sure a "real Rx-8" body kit will look alot better, but whoever photoshopped that Rx-8 its not all that bad but i'm not saying its good either, but IMO i like the idea NOTA V6 03-23-2002, 08:57 PM No arguement there. :) I like body kits too. But some, incombination with certain other "mods" can make a car look ricey. Obviously it's photoshopped. The picture is old news... ;) Johnny 03-23-2002, 09:50 PM Yeah i agree with you on the incombinations, i know EXACTLY what your talking about obviously there's alot of kits around that are horridious looking and are very ricey looking especially on a car with no mods whatsoever, oh well we're beating on a dead dog i'm tired of that Rx-8, i'm done posting on this thread :D RX - 8 04-02-2002, 04:33 PM with all the new members on the board, i just thought we could see what they think about this pic DANNER 04-02-2002, 04:40 PM I actually like, but it does look kinda rice. I'm not really sure the wing spoiler goes with the underbody too. Does any onw know if Mazda will offer a body kit or a Wing Spoiler as an accessory? I personally think the RX8 looks pretty good without them, but I'm still curious. SureShot 04-08-2002, 02:58 PM That look is starting to age now. The stock RX-8 is the kind of look we will all be more comfortable with in 2004. Narflar 04-10-2002, 09:09 PM It's a bit much for me. I like body kits that add to the look of the car, not completely change it. Why spend the money on a car then spend even more on completely changing how it looks? lenny 04-11-2002, 07:57 PM Well I’m new here and the kit looks ricy however it could be the Photoshop job. It does help with imagining it with a good kit. What I’m going to do is put all the cash under the hood:) deshfrudu 04-14-2002, 12:01 AM And a rather poor photoshop job too... |
