On the inside of the door, above the door lock and window controls is a small hole with a rim around it, facing down, about the width of a nickel. Any idea what it is for? It seems that it may just be access to a screw.

Gyro 10-11-2003, 09:11 AM Thats a red light to illuminate the mirror controls. klegg 10-11-2003, 12:03 PM Yup, I think it is a red led. At first, I thought it was for screw access, but it is absolutly a light of some type. mikeb 10-11-2003, 10:41 PM I never noticed it til now LesPaul 10-13-2003, 07:40 AM I'll have to check that out. It's on both doors and the mirror controls are only on the driver's door. eccles 10-13-2003, 10:32 AM Originally posted by LesPaul I'll have to check that out. It's easy enough to confirm at night time - simply place your hand on the door dontrols and you'll see it's lit from above... move you hand upwards and you can easily trace where that light is coming from. Surprise! It comes from the small hole above. :) LesPaul 10-14-2003, 02:01 PM Right, you are. I thought the buttons illuminated from within until I ran my hand under the light. Pretty cool, but I hope the bulbs don't burn out often. Kap 10-14-2003, 02:47 PM Never noticed that, but now that we know it's a light bulb, we can make those buttons illuminate any color we want just by changing the bulb then. |
