Greeting fellow Mazda owners,

As some of you may gather I live on Cape Cod and after reading several threads of interest in a run here I thought it's time to start an interest thread on its own. We had a small gathering at the begining of the summer and it was a great time. Now that the fall season is around the corner and things are slowing down here it's another great chance to enjoy the weather on Cape Cod and a fun run.

Starting point: Use attached map
Rt. 495 south turns into Rt. 25
- Take exit 2
- Keep to the left and go around the circle (rotary)
- As road straightens out keep to the right. (Rt.6 a.k.a. Scenic Hwy)
- Go straight through first set of lights.
- Approx 1.5 miles you will be going down a steep decline to a stoplight.
- At stoplight take right into parking lot.

This is great because I was planning a trip back home that weekend anyways, I grew up down the street from craigville, and moved to near kream and kone when I was in HS (actually worked there at the old location)

i remember doing this in my 350z with all those guys, it was awesome. we had 67 350Z's, 6 G35 coupes, and a handful of other random cars. such a fun time, i hope this one comes together, maybe as an annual event as they did.

We certainly won't have that many cars. We would be lucky if there are 50 members in MA.

I'm interested in this run, but I don't know what my schedule's like towards the end of Sept yet.

On another note, how does everyone feel about having some other Mazda guys in the run? Some Protege 5's, Miata, etc.

I edited the time so people can arrive within an hour for those who are traveling from a far. The parking area is quite big. Just look for the VR 8 and other Mazdas.

Correct - about an hour from my house to the start point. Anyone cutting across using RT 6 thru CT will have to connect thru Providence onto 195. If that's the route let me know, otherwise I'll see y'all at the start.

There is no address. It's a parking lot. There's a Scratch Pad on the Map that gives details. "Meet in parking lot. Then head up to the bridge to get onto RT. 6"

You can right click anywhere on the map and define that as start or finish and then you can drag the directions path to any road you want. I guestimated where you live but the finish point is there with the long parking lot on the right of the road.

I'm thinking the parking lot of the Ramada Inn just off 195 in Seekonk would be an easy place to meet up. 195 East, Exit 1 in Mass takes you right up to the front of it.

So, 8:45am at the Ramada Inn off Exit 1 of 195? That sounds reasonable.

The Ramada Inn is across the street off Exit 1. When you get to the top of the exit you stay right, but then have to cross 4 lanes (2 Southbound, 2 Northbound) to get into the Ramada. Not really a big deal, though. If there's alot of traffic there are plenty of businesses on both sides to use as turnarounds to come back to the Inn entrance.

940 Fall River Ave. (aka Rt 114 A) in Seekonk, MA is the address.

If we can find ours we absolutely will. We had some really nice video of the Cape meet we did with the 350Z/G35 group 2 years ago!!!

I am getting excited, weather looks good!

I dig my vid cam up, but I will have my big digital (and the 3 lenses for it) so should be able to get some good pictures. And the weekend looks nice, rain on friday tho (at least up here).

Nice! I usually shoot around 100 pics or so from every meet. I'll also setup my in-car camera rig for video footage.

I hooked us up with a group rate on the mini golf. $5.50 per person.

Awesome! That's all I can say. Some people got a little lost, but we worked it out. Plans changed a little and some played golf while others ate somewhere. Most of us ate at Kreme N' Cone, then off to Craigville beach. Could have been a little warmer in the end, but hey it's the end of September. Nice to see new faces and some killer Mazdas.

Just wanted to drop on by again and say it was great to see everyone again. Wish I could of gone but again told the gf' I'd help her watch the kids while she went to work and yeah that didnt happen as soon as I wanted so technicaly I could of gone but 'eh whateva.

GREAT meet guys! Thanks again for all the great organizing Josh! We had a blast and it was really great to meet everyone. Mini golf was absolutely a good time, the food was outstanding and company even better! Can't wait to have another meet.

good job josh! great time! definitely worth the hike down there for sure. i loved the variety of cars; and there were a lot of damn good looking cars to make things that much better. it was really great meeting everyone. great drive, greet scenery, great food, great people; you cant go wrong.

The ride home seemed so much longer since I was forced to drive [gasp!] the speed limit! Pulled the screw out and plugged it this morning at my mechanic's shop - the thing was 3 inches long! I can't believe the tire didn't blow out right when I picked that beast up. Switching to the winter set a week or 3 early - nbd.

Hey Pete - just curious, how long a trip was it for you and how was the drive back? I debated going and come Sunday morning was too lazy to get up early. Looks like I missed out on a good time!

2 hours (I-95 to I-195) to RI/MA border to meet the RI group then about 30 min to the meet.

My ride back doesn't count as I ended up exiting 95 shortly after CT border to visit someone.

How many noticed the police just coming out of no where along the cape by mid afternoon? It was crazy, and all the onlookers were great. Oh and back at the mini-golf while everyone was eating there was some crazy lady, it was hilarious.

yeah one of my guys from 7club got pulled over and yanked out of his car and yelled at by a cop. Guess when the Protege's started blocking traffic for people to get through someone called the cops and my buddy in his Matte Black SA got pulled over first. The cop bitched him out and then followed him around so he bailed so none of us would get arrested or some shit.
