View Full Version : Home turbo mod
rotarygod 08-29-2007, 11:28 PM I put this here as opposed to the lounge in the sincere hopes that all of you turbocharged tinkering home mechanics don't do something stupid like this. I'm sad this was on a Mazda. At least it wasn't a rotary. The list of things wrong is far too long to list. This is almost as classic as the S2000 owner who installed the nitrous nozzle in the valve cover. Please people, if you want to modify your turbo, don't do it this way!

chickenwafer 08-29-2007, 11:34 PM haha, thanks Fred. That's hilarious. "What's all that extra noise??" Haha
Where's the one about the S2000 owner who plumbed nitrous into his valve cover??!! I want to read that- sounds even funnier!
rotarygod 08-29-2007, 11:42 PM The S2000 owner, completely ignoring what everyone said about the reason why he wasn't gaining any power, eventually used such a large shot of nitrous that he froze a camshft under full shot which made it brittle enough to physically snap! I'm waiting to see the outcome of this turbo and engine.
auzoom 08-29-2007, 11:56 PM OMG! and its an aussie, how embarrasing!
mike1324a 08-30-2007, 12:18 AM oh wow...... im speechless
chickenwafer 08-30-2007, 12:34 AM how shyt that S2000 story is even funnier! Got any links to it? Did he do it on a forum?
Love the mx6 community responses, feels like home.
Hopefully the guy will keep everyone updated when it finally disinigrates.
Not to mention what it's done to the turbo, the weld jobs are CLASSIC.

Is it me, or do S2000 owners abuse the hell out of their cars? I know one here in Conroe who has gone through 5 or 6 clutches (and associated hardware) in only 30,xxx miles or so!
Im_DANomite 08-30-2007, 07:28 AM funny how that guy hasn't responded in awhile. he says he's going to be fabricating some sort of cover for the charge pipe/turbo. he's probably looking for a motor to replace...
you think you've seen everything, then someone surprises you...again.
DrewMan 08-30-2007, 08:31 AM thats pretty scary looking!
I think he would have a better chance making it with lego instead

chickenwafer 08-30-2007, 05:52 PM ROLF! Nice one, Jason
At least this "Copex" guy didn't weld extra blades to his impeller, or he could toast his engine pretty quick. At least like this, if one of his shity-ass welded on blades comes off, it will just fly down the downpipe
SlideWayz 08-30-2007, 06:42 PM This had me gasping for breath!
Surely it is a joke?
How th' heck has it not buggered itself yet?
WoodsOfGreenRx8 08-30-2007, 07:05 PM I feel so much dumber after looking at that...

Why's that thread only 3 pages long? The original thread that I saw went on for many many pages with more detail about what he tried and the final outcome. Maybe he posted the question in more than one forum?
tajabaho1 08-31-2007, 12:33 PM lol, nevertheless, that is funny as hell
cmr333 09-01-2007, 03:06 PM wow that is pretty bad, two guys sharing their dumbassity on their cars. they should have their own club for home made go fast goodies. lol
