Well, Still not an RX-8, But I got some new wheels on it.

I figure after market wheels are after market wheels Right? They apply equally to other makes of car.

Anyway, Took me a long time to get em'. They were custom finished for me in California and shipped up on a slow boat. Took awhile but I'm pretty happy with them.

Took them to Group 2 Motorsports to have em' mounted up. Great folks there, but their machine was having issues so the folks at Group 2 took my wheels to Vince at Discount Tire in Northgate. This Guy handled my wheels like they were made of fine china. No Powertools came into play and he's a hell of a good guy...

So Vince at Discount Tire and Group 2 Motorsports both get a Big Thumbs up....

ANYWAY...

Here's the details.

Wheels are:

DPE GT7 19X9f ET35 Forged ally 2 piece With TPMS weighed in at 20.2lbs
DPE GT7 19X10r ET35 Forged ally 2 piece With TPMS weighed in at 22.03lbs

Tires are :

235/35ZR-19 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 weight 23.8lbs
265/30ZR-19 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 weight 25.9lbs

Without Further Delay, here's the pics.

and I dig the tread...
The Tires are much much better than the OEM Bridgestone RE50As. They ride better, handle better, and I like the way they look.

Enjoy, Hope to see some of you out there... Gotta get in another drive before the end of sunny days...

Thanks, mostly I was just wanting to let folks know about DPE Wheels. They are a smaller wheel Manufacturer in California. They use modern forges and materials to create some pretty nice looking wheels. They are extremely high quality and seriously light weight.

Best part?

They have a lot of different finishes available or will custom finish wheels to whatever color you like. Pretty handy.

And I still miss my RX-8... So I come in here to see what's going on.

Been thinking that an older Mini-Cooper (Old School), Converted to RWD, with a cage and everything would be a magnificent place for the renesis motor and tranny. I had this thought while at Group 2 Motorsports watching them build some race car chassis...
