Only had the car 2 weeks. Never noticed the protective film (?) on the fender. Looks like it is to prevent chips from rocks.

Anyway, it looks like just some small piece of clear plastic film. Will it start looking crappy? Should it be removed?

I noticed it, while waxing the car, the wax makes a white line right at the plastic...

I didn't notice it until I washed my car for the 1st time.

I figured Mazda must have put that thing on for a reason and decided to leave it alone. It is a pain when it comes to waxing, but should not leave any white line as long as all of the wax residuals are properly taken of.

Uhhh, the film won't exactly prevent dents. But it will stop chips. Who's to say it didn't help you? The paint didn't chip where the film is, did it?

there's a plastic film under the back door too. in the lower corner towards the rear fender. is it safe to take that out?
