yellow liquid on my garage floor

i have around 50k on my 04 rx8. I have never swapped out the tranny or rear differential fluids, but looking to switch them out around 60k. I have this yellow liquid in my garage that leaks from my 8. It's sorta near the muffler area, and smells like oil and has a very slippery feeling to it. I was just wondering is this tranny or rear differential fluid. I was also wondering if it was a good time to change my coils/ignition wires

stop locking the cat in the garage !

Seriously - sounds like diff fluid if it is near the muffler . You need to get underneath and have a look !

haha my dog stayed in my garage one night and left some different "yellow liquid" but ill have it looked at. When is usually a good time to replace the coils/igniton wires?

Yellow and slippery could be brake fluid. There'd probably be a problem with braking and the brake warning light would likely be on, though.

Definitely not power steering fluid. Wrong end of the car, plus the RX-8 has electric power steering.
