Could those guys that have ordered recently give me an idea of the delivery dates you have been given ?

The mpg thing is giving me the wobbles and I'm thinking of cancelling and waiting a couple of months... just wondering how long it would take to then get hold of an 8 if the mpg turns out to be ok (i.e. near what mazda advertise) ...

I spoke to three dealers, one said December and two said January / February. It's all quite vague and I'm personally not going to start getting impatient unless delivery is later than March. The upside of a bit of a wait is that I can have a go at saving up some money in the mean time (granted, not a particularly exciting upside).

The people at Millcars said the pre-order scheme ends this Friday and after that customers will order normally once the car is in the showrooms and generally available. Their implication is order now or face a long wait when the wider public catch wind.

I ordered on 21st Sept and was told to expect delivery by end of January at the latest. I questioned this and the dealer was adamant I would have my car by then.

Many of the earlier pre-order customers here on the forum will have their cars before then (November hopefully) and I'm sure will give updates on the MPG issue. There would be plently of time to cancel then if you didnt like what you were hearing.

I'd hang on for now if I were you. If you cancel now and then wait until the start of next year to re-order you may end up having to wait until the middle of next year before you get a car!

I ordered on 13th Sept and was told that Mazda were advising dealers to tell customers that delivery would be in March.

However the salesman thought that the cars would probably be available in Feb. Didn't promise though.

Like oilman said though 'what else would you buy?' I was tempted to buy a TT until I saw, and drove, an RX8:D

The usual suspects I suppose ... Z, R32, S3 etc...

I'll hang on until I get a drive anyway, maybe that will make my mind up!
