I hate to here stories like this one....it pisses me off to win that much money and want this....

(copywrite www.powerball.com)
A Missouri couple claimed half of a $ 261.3 million Powerball jackpot. Their spending plans are decidedly modest for the time being.

He wants to get a tractor with brakes and she wants a new refrigerator. They chose the cash payment and walked away with $73.6 million (before taxes).

It is just not right!!!

I think its sad that people bother to enter a lottery if they have no dreams for what to do with the winnings.

Me (as a Brit), I'd have several houses/apartments (lakes/scotland, south france, thailand etc).

A main house with a large garage, containing a changing miz of classic/modern cars (e-type, austin healy, AC, lamborghini, lotus , aston martin etc).

I'd also see the world, China, NZ, Mexico etc...

Hmm a tractor with brakes, now that'd be good too...

I'd be getting me a 2002 RX-7 Spirit-A sent over from Japan first thing. Then I'd be buying a nice house, a kick-ass gaming setup. I'd invest the rest and live off the interest/dividends taking ski trips/surfing expeditions every few weeks/months for the rest of my life :)

If I won $241 million I would built a very good track in Japan and ask the best motoring team to test drive their cars there for free!!! of course I will also get more cars...

I will still be a doctor though

First thing would be to donate $7.3M to charities.
After that, chunk a few hundred thou in each of my kids' college funds. Pay off the house, pay off the cars, buy another RX-8 and an FD. Put the rest in my portfolio.

A few mil for a house, a few nice cars and a nice home theatre.

Then I would probably give a few mil to my brother and parents... why not?

Then I'd live off the interest and probably eat out a lot :) I'd see the world!

No point in buying too many cool cars as I wouldn't have many places to drive them. LOL

I would buy 1 of each color RX-8 (including white) fully load them and just show case them.

I'm with B-Nez. I'd give a sizable percentage away to charity.

Then I'd go on a permanent road trip.

Estate planning.

Probably buy a bunch of new residential realestates in the hottest areas in California. Rent them out and sell them in a few years and make more money. Do it again and again and again.

Other things....

Get my own yacht
Get my own plane
Get an RV and travel around the continent
Car-wise - Murcielago as the daily driver; the RR Phantom w/ a driver for my wife and kid

I'd buy a few hundred acres somewhere wooded and hilly. Build my own private road so I can enjoy RV and Sunday Driver-free twisties in my future 8 on my way back and forth to my private fishing hole.

Small lottery win 1 to 2 mil, divy it up amonst mortgage, cars and business note, invest the rest, minus a little party/vacation money. Help family and a few selected friends a little.

40 million, which is what tractor and fridge dreamers will come home with.
Very nice home here in PA
100 acres in bumf(*& nowhere
Condo in Maui

Give 10% to charity
Give another 10% to family & friends

Cars M5 (early 90's), finish my 7's mods, Sti, Fx45 or Toureg, Race spec 951, keep the 8. Maui would get the convertable 350Z.

That should leave me about 31million plus, 30 million of which would be invested and I'd live off the interest. 1 million would be partied away and gambled (lots of time in Vegas & I'd check out Monte Carlo as well) and wasted in such an extravagant manner that I would never want to waste money again (hey I saw Brewsters Millions). Plus it's be a lot of fun if I lived through my million dollar party

Okay, let's just say it's $20mil.

25% to spend.
25% to save/invest.
25% to family/friends.
25% to charity.

I realize I'm real conservative to most here, but with winnings like that, well, other people need it more than I do.

Amen on the real estate investment. That's how you can make $ without a problem.

But since I'm in college...

- an old beater car to learn stick.

- take defensive driving courses

- Buy Black 6MT Rx-8 with appearance package, 19' 7-spoke bronze rims w/custom fuel tank.

- '65 Corvette.

- '04 Porsche Cayenne Turbo

- '03 Lamborghini Gallardo

- Buy a house in Huntington beach

- Buy a custom bus from Marathon w/driver

- Travel

Why not start a serie of convertible RX8īs made along the Porsches at www.valmet-automotive.com and order some titanium
bolt, nuts and washer kit (from www.mettec.com perhaps?) for
the RX8. Try out the Renisis engine in an ultra-light airplane like
an Pelican, all this to start with....

Lets change mine, I just found out I need a stronger clutch to go with the higher HP in my third gen. And it seems like a good idea to get an light aluminum flywheel. And I need shocks, so I went with Tocikos all the way around. I would just pay for my Rx7's mods and repairs with my big lottery win.
