I've recently fallen in love with the RX-8 and I'm looking for a black or silver one in the Midwest (or if your willing to drive it to Chicago, then however far away). I doubt you'll find anything in your range, if you get really lucky you may find a 04 with 74,999 miles on it for 15.

did you try autotrader.com? I put in with 50 miles of 60618 and came up with two in your price range.

I just did the same search but for mazda 6 and came up with 34 results. Some of them were 06 models with ~25,000 miles for less than $15,000

They are hard to find though, and manual.

Outside of Mazdas, I would look into a Pontiac Grand Prix or G6 (I know many here would dissagree) but I have owned both and loved both. The G6 in the GTP trim may be hard to come by in your price range, but I'm sure you could find the grand prix
