I just had to post a KUDOS to the folks at Mazda. Today I called the 800 number (800-662-6779) to check on the progress of my free service and debit card. After one ring the call was picked up and actually answered by a LIVE HUMAN! I told him I had mailed in my form a few weeks ago and was checking on the status of the free service card and the debit card. He took my name and looked me up in the system. He found me right away, checked to make sure my address was correct (it was) and proceeded to tell me the cards would be mailed separately. The $500 debit card was due to arrive mid to late October and the free service card to arrive late October to early November.

It was a thoroughly pleasant experience. Thanks Mazda!

Mazda misquoted the HP output of the RX-8, so as a compensation for those of us who bought the car before the accurate HP was advertised they offered 1 of 2 choices:

1. Buy the car back no questions asked

2. Free scheduled maintenance for the length of the warranty period (4 yr/50,000 miles) and a $500 debit card to buy whatever.

Most took offer #2, but as you will see on some other threads, some did return their cars.
