I've got 600 miles on my 8 so far and I still have that new engine smokey smell. Shouldn't it have burned off by now?

Then, I had the ValuGard (sic) put on, and got a bit of smell for a bit as well. Now with 620 miles I only notice it slightly, and then when sitting idle at stoplights and such. Well after a good drive get out take some fresh breaths of air, go inside take a break then come out while the engine is still running and sit inside and tell me you dont smell a difference. That is how I first smelled it. I even thought a smoker had been in my car for a second! Momentum 10-13-2003, 11:14 PM I can't smell it while im driving but people behind me can smell it. It was MUCH worse for the first 100 miles or so. I also have a big Italian nose :). Happy Columbus Day to all the Italians out there.
