here's yet another potentially retarded question:
is tubbing for drag only or can it also be applied to our rx8's for road/track course performance?

i don't know much about our suspension geometry to know whether it'll work without moving the shock mount, etc (which i do not want to mess with). i want to eventually fit 18x13 (or 14") wheels for road racing (not drag racing), and avoid the widebody.

i also do not want to sacrifice the chassy integrity or handling... i just have no clue what role the stock sheat metal covering the fenders play in the chassy integrity. i was just thinking of dremeling it out carefully then extending the well with some fiberglass work. should be quite simple to do...

thanks in adv.

it will be very difficult to do in the rear because it means relocating the entire chassis structure for the rear shock/spring assembly which currently is the limiting factor for how wide you can go to the inside

of course you can accomplish anything with enough money and expertise ... fender flairs would be infinitely less expensive

I would reccomend fender flares as well, you wouldn't even have to lower your car that much either to get the "low" look. Only downside to fender flaring is that they will have to cut out part of your fenders to do it.
