OK, about 4 weeks ago I sent my letter into PA to let them know that I was keeping my 8. When speaking to them on the phone (yes, after an 83 minute zoom zoom zoom hold time), they told me that I should get my letter of confirmation in about two weeks.
I haven't heard anything, so I called today. Just can't seem to get enough of that zoom zoom zoom song, I guess. But what I really wanted to do was simply confirm that they received my letter.
Well, at first, I was told that they were too busy to talk to me. When I insisted that they do so anyway, I was told they couldn't find me in the system. When I persisted, after about 30 seconds of backbreaking work, they did find me in there after all.
They told me that they have no record of receiving my letter, but since I sent it to PA, and they are in CA, there may be a delay due to backlog.
I asked for the PA number, which they would not give me.
I asked for advice on what to do, and they said just give it a couple of more weeks, and call back then and they would try harder to get resolution.
You would think that a company creative enough to design such an awesome car could figure out a way to, in less than 6 weeks, confirm that they either have or have not received a letter from me.
I think the buyback offer was a very good idea for Mazda, and I was more than happy to accept it. But they are handling the logistics of it very poorly.
I can wait a long time to receive the check or the maintenance, but I sure as hell wish I could cross off my to do list the task of constantly trying to call them to see if they know what decision I have made. I wonder if they are just making it so tough hoping that x percentage of people will just blow it off, get busy and forget, or whatever.
I'll bet the buyback people are part of the same department who approves the effeminate ads of a man and car exchanging hugs
Zoom zoom freaking zoom.
