Hi everybody,

Is there anyway to check that my differential is working properly?

The only information that I have is that if the differential is quite and does not make any strange noise everything is ok. Is this true?

How is it possible for someone to detect a problem in the RX-8 differential? What kind of checks can he make apart from changing the fluid and looking of meta shavings.

Thanks

The only way for it not to work is to destroy itself.
If that happens, you will hear it.

From a standstill, accelerate in first gear and take 90 degrees turns (like left turn at a traffic light). If you hear any noise and vibration from the diff, then the fluid is burnt and you need to change the differential oil.

^ This is very useful information. Apart from this check that you have described I assume that if no noise can be heard from differential everything works fine. Is this correct?
