My Millenia's no. 1 knock sensor is out.
Could this affect gas mileage greatly? I really am not getting enough it seems, because my friend has a 2002 Millenia and gets like 120-150 more miles per tank than I do!
Let me know :)

it's likely that it reverts to "worst case" fuel/timing maps if it detects the knock sensor failure which will hurt fuel economy significantly. Don't think that would put you down 150 miles a tank, though.

So how many miles do you get to the tank on the highway, how many are you supposed to get, and how many do you want to get.
Do you have the miller cycle engine or the 2.5?
Thanks.

As long as you have that great interior though.. :p Hehe.. kidding.. I would also say that for safety reasons it retards timing so you don't ping.. Not sure how it would affect the fuel economy though.. ???

Ignition timing advance makes for more efficient and complete combustion. It will be less so with the ignition retard. Lower efficiency = poorer fuel economy, less power, and (usually) dirtier emissions.
In other words, your car is going to blow up. :D

I'm getting ~250 miles per tank.. I usually ride it till the light comes on. My friend has the 2002 and gets around 350-380 per tank.
