View Full Version : Songs that invoke your inner Speed Demon

Shini

If you were driving around in your 8, being a law abiding citizen and what not. What would be the one song that if you listened to it would make you forget what speed limits are and start driving a little more wildy, or even drive like you see in action movies, like the transporter or something...

For me whenver I hear Overseer - Supermoves or Rob Dougan - Clubbed to Death 2 I just kind of forget about whats going on and then I'll look down at the speedo and notice I'm doing 70 in a 45 :spank:

Anyone else have the same experience with other songs?

Shini - Clubbed to Death is one of my favorite tracks atm.

It was for me too, then I heard the Second version and I like it a little bit more. Weird thing about it, every file I find on it has 56 seconds of dead silence to begin with, no idea why.

@Raptor2k: Good choice my friend. Anything off Fat of the Land is okay with me :lol2:

Great thread. Making CD's as I post. I have a playlist called "Rock Out With Your Cock Out" that would defititely work for this and includes a lot of songs mentioned.

My contribution, since no one has said it:

Dragon Force - Fury of the Storm

Just be careful you dont get caught up in your air-guitar.

Oh, and Rise Against has a song called "The Approaching Curve" with a line that goes "The car pressed on faster through the night...Up ahead there was a curve approaching, she made no indication of slowing" that whenever I hear it I always think about my RX-8.

SlayerRX8

Metallica - Call of the Ktulu

Oh hell yes. When I met you at the UMD show, I had no idea you were the type to enjoy Metallica. :)

As for me - speed metal/thrash gets me driving fast.

old Megadeth
old Slayer
Kreator
Destruction
Sodom
old Sepultura
Testament
Exodus

And a bunch of death metal bands no one has heard of.

I am surprised these haven't been mentioned:

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

I gotta get to my iPod and go through it tonight. Generally I listen to music to help me get lost in thought while driving so I don't release the Speed Demon.

Someone already mentioned HIM - "Wings of a Butterfly"...I passed a car once when this was on, and just kept going. Which was great till the cop saw me.

He only gave me a warning, thank god!

Other songs that make me look down and realize I'm going 90:

Korn - Got the Life, Coming Undone
Breaking Benjamin - Dance with the Devil
Red - Already Over (that "Just let GOOOOOOOOOO" part at the end... I've hit 100)
Chevelle - The Red
Stabbing Westward - Shame
Flyleaf - I'm So Sick
Better Than Ezra - Pull
Nine Inch Nails - March of the Pigs, Hand that Feeds, Head Like a Hole, The Great Destroyer

A couple of people mentioned Evanescence on the list...

Random bit of trivia: The band broke in 2003. When Amy Lee decided to go buy her first new car?

She came home with a 2004 Brilliant Black RX-8. :)

She lives in NYC now, so she doesn't need a car, so her dad drives the 8...and LOVES it. I told him I want to see it sometime soon. I'll take pics. haha
