Got the new ventilation kit (http://www.finishlineperformance.com/rx8/docs/pdf/01-050-06-1664A.pdf) installed today, and snapped a few pics looking down into the lower intake manifold at the SSV. Not too much carbon for 56,000 miles. Anybody else looked at theirs for comparison?

I have a quick question. Does your car have to be under warranty for Mazda to fix an issue listed in a TSB? Or if it's not under warranty, do you still have to pay for the cost?

TSB's are only problems that have been addressed by Mazda. if your car is under warranty it will be covered. if not, you'll have to pay. RECALLS are always covered for free since it's a safety related issue.

So running 5W-20 dino oil seems to be OK - any of the synthetic oil people looked into their engines and have a photo?
Or maybe it is the premix at work...

I have been using the OEM oil from Ford since day one. It's a dino/synthetic blend. The premix started at 50K.
