I've been on this site for several months, but just decided to become a member. I really like this forum.

If anyone in the Seattle, WA area is interested in putting a deposit down on an RX-8, University Mazda is now offering MSRP (No markup) and $500 deposit. Their reserve list is limited to 15 and today I'll be the second or third (a guy might come in today before me and make a deposit) on the list.

I was holding off because in the past that same dealership wanted $1000 over MSRP and $1000 deposit and I said sorry, nothing over MSRP. They just changed their policy last week or so after going to some Mazda's national dealer meeting.

sounds like someone from mazda laid down the law. maybe someone explained to them that price gouging results in decreased sales!:D
