Funny, mine was a pre-order, too. I had pre-ordered a red one. I happened to be at my dealer when the winning blue was being loaded off the truck for another customer. I had commented to the Sales Manager that I liked the blue better than the red. He said it was also a pre-order. Long story short, the deal on the winning blue pre-order fell through because the original customer couldn't get financed and I got his car. I don't know what the original mileage was when they off loaded the truck, but before I signed all the papers, it had 5 miles on it and I put another 4 on it before driving off the dealer's lot. loco4rx8 10-03-2003, 03:20 PM I bought mine off the lot, not a pre-order. Can't prove a thing and dealer swears it ain't so. I only calculated it once, but on the last fillup I got 19.74 MPG. I did notice the mileage was really bad at the beginning (I started the trip on the first tank), but it got progressively better after break-in. The car lot out here doesnt mind letting people test drive the cars.... I asked a salesman and he said that they are really careful when they let people drive them so that they get broken in properly and arent mistreated. in other words, No one is out doing donuts in these cars. |
