After installing the Greddy Profec B boost controller, I could easily run 8 psi and the car went like stink.

Yesterday the boost pressure went back to max 5 psi and now I hear a loud "whoosh" sound / escaping air when the boost should comes up. (No, not the BOV, I don't run with a BOV yet...) I hear that sound from the passenger side of the car...

When I turn the boost controller off I can't even reach 4psi of boost.

What I did :
-check all hoses / connections, everything seems ok and all connections seem tight.
-just got new coils and sparkplugs

The dealer said the cat is fine... (if that is true...!)

So I can only conclude that is the actuator itself (??)

Does anybody know where to buy a new one ? Does anybody know if an actuator from the T518Z is the same one?

Maybe somebody has had the same problem or has another idea?

Of course the car runs pig rich now, no boost .. it is almost unable to drive the thing... grownls¨*$^$

It is good to have the : http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=113393 thread to get my calmed down :p

run your fingers across all sides of each hose, it's possible one of the hoses burst. I was in a similar situation and checked all the connections, everything was fine. I gave up and started to take stuff apart .. .eventually found one of the hoses had burst (on the reverse side) and it was allowing boost to escape.

If this is indeed happening to you, get it fixed asap as a hole will not only allow air to escape, but unfiltered air to get in the engine when in vacuum.

I made a very simple leak test device by using an empty plastic water bottle and got to work.

It was a Greddy hose indeed...

It was impossible to find without a leaktest, and now in about 5 minutes I found the problem!

I took a picture of the hose.

Damn bro. $150 or so for new hoses is CHEAP insurance if you ask me.

It was a Greddy hose indeed... Congrats Speedsteve. You are one of the very few who, after getting advise on how to fix their problem, actually returned to post what their solution was. I wish more people would do that.
