My bro's probation period after his DUI conviction is coming to an end and he will need to get insurance somehow.. He lives in California... does anybody have any suggestions on a decent company that he can get hosed by?

I'm sorry, but after driving drunk, he deserves to get hosed.

I'm sorry, but after driving drunk, he deserves to get hosed. While I agree he shouldn't have been driving drunk, I highly doubt you've never, ever driven after a few.........

If you haven't, then you're either a saint, or don't drink to begin with.

Not the point.....it is all 'great fun' till someone gets killed, and it is usually some innocent person wrong place, wrong time.
No sympathy here, pay the big rates or take the bus.

Ignore the posts. :banghead:

I think American Family takes on post-DUI customers. It's about 3x the cost but what are you gonna do? Good luck.

What's the return policy on those supermodels?

If you have Costco membership, check out their insurance rate as well. I heard they have good policy/rate.

Alright, first of all, you come accross and say that the insurance companies are going to "hose" him. Are you saying he doesn't deserve to pay higher rates? He knew the penalties of getting a DUI and chose to drink irresponsibily anyway. You come here and and cuss people for basically saying that he deserves to pay higher rates and he's not getting "hosed" but getting what he deserves! Maybe when someone you care about gets taken out by a drunk driver you'll change your attitude. BTW: Maybe you should actually try and call some insurance companies and find out what their rates actually are "dipshit."

If I ever catch a drunk person getting in an automobile to drive, I am going to dip him in some shit and then hose him down.

Something about a guy that has a DUI and wants to get a cheap insurance rate.

Good tip on how to get cheap insurance rates, I know this sounds crazy, but uhhhh don't break the law. and if you do, don't get caught :lol2:

His only choice is to go into something called Assigned Risk. They will assign him to a company that will agree to insure him. He won't get much choice in the matter.

He's pretty much going to hear the suckage as they vacuum out his checking account every month.

I don't know about anyone else but someone drinking and driving doesn't make me feel good about anything (including myself)...

Geico used to, but you'd pay up the rear for it. Might be worth checking into. There are companies out there that specialize in insurance for "high-risk" drivers. See if you can find some of those.
