View Full Version : Valet Parking
starbucks 10-02-2003, 12:40 AM Anyone NEVER let valet park their car? I never minded with my sedan, but have these weird thoughts of valets 360'ing sports cars in the parking garage. Doesn't happen, but what about dings? I'm the guy who parks out in the boondocks. My gf and I have compromise by having me drop her off while I go park, unless there's a close spot that is in a spot I feel is safe from the type of cars with huge doors and pointy side molding.
RX-GR8 10-02-2003, 12:48 AM NEVER. after watching Ferris Buellers Day Off i never will.
Mockngbrd 10-02-2003, 01:04 AM wahaha.. i watched that show too...... :P

AvitalBlue8 10-02-2003, 02:34 AM I don't even let my friends and family drive my car let a lone a valet, and they never will. (the valet this is maybe i'll let my dad take her for spin sometime)
wvphoto 10-02-2003, 06:12 AM valet parked my velocity red the first week i had it .
the valet guy and girl both rode in it .. they loved it..and parked it in my sight..
they were very restpectful
and well tipped
Shocka 10-02-2003, 07:08 AM I usta valet so i know NEVER to give the car to a valet. What I did last week was tip the kid $5 and asked if i could park in the front by myself and he keeps an eye on the car. He agreed and was happy . He got money to do nothing
When i came out i gave him another 2. that makes sure he tellls u if someone hit u should it happen
lefuton 10-02-2003, 02:54 PM i was just at a place last friday where i had no choice in the matter, but you can see the entire parking lot from where i sat...so it wasn't all too bad, not like he could have taken the car out joyriding.
carnut 10-02-2003, 05:57 PM Never unless I absolutely have to, and I won't be driving the 8 to anything where that's the case.
JeRKy 8 Owner 10-02-2003, 06:38 PM Id like to let the valet park my car but when I cant because when they bring it back they arent willingto wait one or two minutes before bringing up the car after turning it on. My car is at 2000 miles now and I still wait at least 1 minute before driving even if Im going to be driving for half an hour.
mikeb 10-02-2003, 07:35 PM letting valet park my car is like letting someone borrow my girlfriend
I hate it

paul810 10-02-2003, 11:10 PM Never let anyone valet my cars, not after what happen to my dads Berlinetta. The valet drove it right into the restaurants sign.
:( :(
seikx8 10-02-2003, 11:24 PM Got bad experience from valet as well, so I always avoid valet if all possible.
Squidward 10-07-2003, 01:41 AM the whole idea of valet parking is rather absurd to me.
Why in th world would you want to entrust such a valuable item, something you bought with your hard-earned money, to some stupid college student or underpaid wage worker, who probably most likely doesn't give a rats arse about you or your car...
I've seen how valet guys drive peoples cars.. Not exactly gentle... One guy even broke the key in a friend's car, while it was idling.. What's even worse was none of the staff knew how to deal with it... idiots. so they drove it aside and left it running the whole 3 hours until my friend came out from the megaplex. They figured he would drive it home and take care of the problem himself. haha.. talk about jacked up.
As for myself, I came out of a restaurant after 3 hours and when I got into my car, I saw that the engine temp was WAY past normal. Yep, just like ferris bueler. And that was the last time I ever used valet.
miatabich 10-08-2003, 12:21 AM my friend's lexus sc got stolen from valet .. of course his keys were missing also. after that i'm not letting anyone valet my car. now he's in the process of taking em to court. tsk tsk.
(car recovered tho with stereo/amps missing, tires burnt out)
lourx8 10-08-2003, 02:47 PM Nope... No way.
Hayseed 10-09-2003, 05:44 PM Went to a $$$ restaurant in downtown Boston the very weekend I picked up the 8. To celebrate, you know. This was back the third week of July. The valet had no idea what the car was, but it looked like the kind of car they wanted to keep out front. To let passersby know that a certain class of customer patronized the place. No extra miles. They kept a respectful eye on it the whole time. Not sure I'd do it again though...
