Boy, do I feel dumb. I was running 30 mins late, so was obviously in a rush...pulled into the spot in the parking garage going reverse.. Went too fast and now have about a 1 inch vertical paint scratch on my rear bumper. I thought it would be much worse...but from all i can tell it's just a paint scratch that looks like a black line.
Anyway...so yeah i feel like a jackass, but now i'm concerned with fixing it. What are the best options?

sounds like with just a black line you have a mar not a scratch. I would think your basic rubbing compound will take it right off.
My wife likes to see how close she can come to the garage wall and Ive taken out many a marks, scratches, rubber mars with rubbing compounds.
Put a dab of rubbing compound on, lots of elbow grease and follow up with some protective polish (Zaino). You should be fine.

Is the scratch on top of the paint or through it? If it's on top, you should be able to buff it out. If it's deeper and you have some touch up paint, check out the following web site:
http://www.langka.com/
They sell a product that lets you fix small chips & scratches with touch up paint and come out with a smooth (no blob) finish.
Other than these options....body shop.
