I wonder how many of you are wanting the MazdaSpeed Kit in Australia. Our friends in the US is already making those...

Shipping in the bunch and installing together is cheaper and also a lot of fun.

Please reply this thread especially if you live in Melbourne

It's too soon.

I don't plan to make significant alteration to the car for a while.

Guess it'd depend on the price

My first serious mods with be one that help the engine breathe, as long as it can be done without sacrificing low end torque... a bit of a tall order without ECU changes.

I'm fitting the mazda bootlid spoiler, mainly because it's subtle. I've measured the mazda front air dam and it's not worth fitting - the speed bumps round my neck of the woods would kill it in the first week.

OK, just saw the Mazdaspeed spoiler on another thread.

It's pretty special. I've got a new factory spoiler in primer if anyone is interested.

Hey takahashi, what sort of price are you expecting on the MS spoiler and do you know it the mounting kit comes with heavier duty struts like the factory kit? (The boot lid is very light).

I'd be interested in front spoiler (love the bigger air dam) and side skirts. Again, depends on price, normaly stuff in the US is expensive, let along the exchange rate.

Anyone able to export from japan ? plenty of aussie in the car industry working there.

I am think about it Kas...

If I remember you correctly that you live in Melbourne. Do you know car mods shop that import stuff? I am going to ask my friends about it.

I am going to give you a private message about the prices. If you interested in the genuine MS spoiler. I am in for the front bumper +/- the wing. The side they can make it in carbon fibre and I think it is pretty cool. But I don't mind shipping the whole damn thing but I think we are talking about ~A$10,000

Yeah, I've seen the genuine MS products and the spoiler is about $3500 and side skirts about $2500 which is just way too over priced for me hence replica.

So if all those prices are in US.. Dont forget that shipping here may cost up to $500 per bumper.

Check out this site.

Shows all accessories and prices. MS front air damn, side skirts, rear defuser and spoiler works out to be about $5500-$6000 plus shipping.

Also, something to consider... I think that MazdaSpeed front bumper might be illegal here, on the leather pack models at least... pretty sure it doesn't have the headlight washers that are required under ADRs for Xenon lights... so unless you can retrofit them from your standard bumper, could be troublesome.

That explains a mystery for me - I'd didn't know washers were required for xenon. Why is that?

Because Xenon is so bright, if you get crap on your lenses, it can refract the light and blind everyone... that's why they pop up every 5th time you spray the windscreen. I'm pretty sure there's an ADR regulation that requires Xenon lights to be auto-levelling and have a cleaning system.

I thought the xenon h/l's were pretty special on the TT, but the 8's seem to give a better spread.

You just held the squireter on longer on the TT to clean the h/l's (think the lights had to be on as well).

Lucky I've got the standard, always likes the smooth lines of the buper. But why is it a requirement for Xenon lights to have a washer?

Yes you have to drill holes in the MS bumper to fit the washer... the curve is the same though, so the cover will fit. I had a look on the car - it should not be hard to do but need to be spot on.

I will try to fit the washer in.

I don't think the older Xenon in the BMW all has a washer. Do you?

I am not sure whether it is a regulation. What happen if it become malfunction. Will us be charged for that?
