Well I finally got my corksport installed - I decided to go with the Pioneer AVIC Z2 - Yeah I know there is no bypass for video on the move (yet) but it does other things that i'd rather have - like accelation G's and lateral G's - those are alot more fun than Weekend at bernies 2

I also decided to go with the bluetooth kit - so i can take calls through my stereo which is really cool - it even synced with my phone's address book wirelessly - so it's easy to call people using it

I am STILL waiting for my Sirius unit - it will just connect to the back and you will use the z2 for all of the controls and everything - yeah i'm giving up the ability to save (from the S50) songs i like - but i can still get (or make) the CD and rip them onto the HD of the Z2

I used the audio preouts for signal for my amps - that works out very well - and the HU crosses over at 125 and it sounds AWESOME!!

The instuctions that came with the corksport kit are probably the easiest instructions i've ever followed. I mean even with shampoo Rinse, lather, repeat sometimes i get stuck in a loop... but the corksport instructions were great - all of the wires were labled clearly in the instructions and all of the wires are labled with tags on the Z2 and they all had ends that just pushed together - no soldering or crimping - the only wire i didn't do was the reverse wire, because it wanted me to take the lead from the reverse light in the trunk, but i don't even have a rearview camera so it's not necessary

and yes both the AC and Heat work perfectly, and it's not just hot air like some people have thought was heat, I turned it on and put my fingers on the vent till it hurt.. it works!

Here are the only pics i have

I decided to put the GPS and the Sirius receivers on the trunk because I couldn't reach the top of the car (because my legs don't work) and if i did somehow reach the top of the car i don't think i could get both the wires to stay in the seam of the window

but anyways - thats my install if you have any questions feel free to ask -- and i have ALOT of stuff for sale - check out my sale thread (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=119359) -- things like my 3.Sixty.2 - auxmod - MP3 cd player - old HU with updated firmware - Sirius S50 -- and that kind of stuff is on there if anyone is interested

Looks great, man!! Glad you're another proud/happy member of the Corksport club.

That's the lamest excuse I've ever heard. ;) (I kid, I kid)

I actually thought about putting my GPS receiver in that same location but decided on trying it in the corner of the passenger side dash first. Turned out it works great on the dash so, well, there you go!

No I've never tried to pry it - i carefully read the stereo removal thread before i attempted anything like that.. and it's been there so long i can't really remember when it first happened - I THINK it was when i took it into the dealer to have the AC controls replaced they pulled it out but didn't remove the wires from the stereo so when they were messing with the ac stuff the back side of the stereo was scratching against that corner - or maybe it happened when i was doing something similar i dunno -- it matches with the rest of the car's interior though, because putting that wheelchair in and out beats up all the interior pretty good but i try to keep the piano black unscratched as best as possible.

Just looked at Corksports website for the first time. What is the kit to keep steering wheel controls really entail? And it's DAMNED expensive!

Steering wheel controls (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=115898) here is the thread about the steering wheel controls - i've actually debated quite abit about getting an add on steering wheel controler for the pioneer (here) (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/pg/product/details/0,,2076_310069685_298177924,00.html)
Just because i used them so much..

I don't know what that means - but i can't think of anything that ISN'T going good, so i'm going to guess whatever you meant is going good.

-- the only thing i can think of that you mean is the 20b 3 rotor engine - in which case thats not me, i'm the wheelchair guy - no point having a 3 rotor engine when you can't even have a Manual transmission...

does your heater work properly, or just blow outside air. I understand corksport did not include the necessary harness for the heater on early orders. was this resolved for your kit you just installed.

Yeah it works -- I turned it on and put my fingers over the vent till it hurt so bad i couldn't leave them there anymore just to be sure

Looks good man, I still cant get over the fact that the opening is bigger than DIN. Whats the point?

Whats the point? For the option to install a double din mac daddy lcd/dvd/nav unit with hdd. Or buy a universal style adapter to make it single din I assume.

I agree. I wish they would have made it narrower.
