Hello all experts,
1 question for you gurus. Is it possible to purchase and install a multimedia player ( dvd, vcd, mp3, cd) and retain the original center console.
Futhermore, i would want to mount a 7" lcd screen on the dashboard and have a reverse camera fixed.
And lastly, how much difference would a pioneer sound processor + i pod module make if im using the stock head unit with bose 9 system.
Awaiting ur replies.
cheers.

no - you want the 2 DIN Corksport kit (http://corksport.com/store/category/5l96/rx8-interior.html) with a nice headunit. I just installed my a week ago - i havent had a single problem with it and it has changed my life.

The problem with the corksport unit is that if you have a motorize screen it will block the air vents and the lower viewing position is not optimal for the design of our vehicle. You'll always be looking down to watch, there is a reason why the stock nav is situated up high like that.
The retractable Nav unit allows an OEM look for 7inch aftermarket screens, the possibilities are endless.
In the end you will spend less on a Retractable Nav unit anyhow:
350 for retractable nav hood
75 for 7inch screen
90 for PIE audio input adapter and cable
60 for cheap portable dvd player or you can even get an ipod video and use the video out
Total: 575, the corksport kit alone is 434 and does not include a head unit, or dvd player, or screen.
If the customer has NAV already then they can just add video on nav or replace the stock lcd screen entirely as well for an aftermarket LCD (many international customers do this because GPS does not work in their country).

Did I just read you have a custom painted wheelchair to match the RX-8??? that is awesome! Reminds me of "The People vs. Larry Flynt" with his Gold chair, wonder if he had it Gold in real life. You should add clear corners, strakes, or some other sort of other RX-8 accessories...like a rotary symbol in the back. People would go crazy for it on here.
