Hello all, I've been searching of ways to remove the spoiler and dealing with the holes and what i've had are these..

1. I went to a local body shop and got an estimate for them to do everything, the guy told me it will be $600 because they have to put some kind of plate below the hole and solder it then they have to repaint the whole trunk etc.

2. Buy a new trunk, which I found on onlinemazdaparts.com and it cost 565 unpainted so really its + about 300 for paint.

3. I also found on onlinemazdaparts.com that there is a "trunk hole cover," I have no idea how this works, has anyone tried it..? Any other suggestions guys? First two options are incredibily expansive.. I wish there are other ways :(

A sledgehammer to remove the spoiler, then use Polyfoam to fill the holes. You may have to fill the entire trunk in order to close the holes, but it would be worth it.

4. Find owner with same color who wants a spoiler and swap trunk lids.

5. Duct tape. :D:

this really is the cheapest and easiest way to do it. you can do a WTT in the for sale section and they always get snatched up. heck, if it's NG and you were close i would have considered it.

I would have traded if it were red.

See how easy it can be?

that'll work for the spoiler holes, but if there are any scars, then you'd be out of luck.

really, it should be doable by a bodyshop for 300-400. cost of repaint. check other places.

I know. that should be considered just a temp solution until you get the holes welded up and repainted.

get a ViS or Seibon carbon fiber trunk. $550 or so and no paint
