End of September, anyone had an update?

Just thought it would be best to start a fresh thread to see if anyone has received an accurate delivery indication. From my understanding the letter from Mazda stated that we would all receive an update before the end of September.

We only have two days to go!

I was kinda hoping that someone would have one too.
Not everyone misses the postman in the morning , and by the merit no-one has posted I would say that we are not getting one today....

So that mean tomorrow for certain I will know when my baby is due to be in her (freshly painted) garage !

Hooray ! !

Incidently , I paid my £1000 261 days ago according to my desk diary ! That means the 1 day left is next to nothing ! ! !

I missed the post this morning so was hoping for better news.

I'll try the dealer today and see if they know anything else.

Theory says that phoning the RX8 line to see if the letters have gone out should be OK.
I mean , they will not be able to tell us actual individuals dates I appreciate , but they MUST know whether the letters have gone out....

Let's hope they dont miss the date.... I know technically it is still September , but waiting until the last day seems a bit off somehow.

I have cars to sell and things to sort which I am not prepared to do if there is to be ANOTHER delay ! ! ! !
Please . Please. PLEASE ! ! ! Just tell us if the damn letters have been sent ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Er, dont bother waiting for the post guys.

I just rang the RX8 line;

"Any idea when I will get my letter confirming delivery week?"
"Letters should be going out in the next fortnight sir"
"Waht happened to by the end of Spetember?"
"I dont know about that, all I can say is that letters should be going out in the next 2 weeks...first batch should be end of October, early November."

Click. (me putting phone down).

I dont care.

Send me as many or as few letters as they like.

They've promised me the car in november, and thats now when I expect it. So far nothing suggests a change to that.

Just off speaking to dealer. Told to expect car as planned, early November. They have not had any bad news from Mazda so they are holding them to their word.

I also complained that the price of accesories was excessive and he agreed. Loads of people have apparently complained and they "Mazda" and the dealer network are trying to sort it out.

If you've not yet registered a notion of complaint get one in to your dealer or Mazda now.

Who knows they might offer us things a bit cheaper.

We can only ask?!

Awited in anticipation this morning. NOTHING. Just emailed Deby at Mazda Europe for a response.

AnilS.

Mazda if your looking (I know you are), I want a P/X on my Focus, and we'll swap when the 8 arrives. Oh, did I fail to mention, the price for the Focus was set on the 24th Jan 2003 when I ordered, NOT a November price. Sounds very reasonable.

It's disappointing that just when it appeared that Mazda UK were getting their act together and actually communicating as promised they go and let us down again. I guess we should have realised when they only just met their last deadline for a letter that it was more luck than judgement the last time.

As long as it's November I won't be too upset but the sooner I can start arranging the private sale of my current car and the loan I need the better. Please Mazda , get a move on with this.

They only met the last deadline because two forum members emailed them on the 28th asking where the Hell the letters were. They went out on the 29th as a rush job.

Ladies and gents, what lies beneath is the response to my email to Deby (Mazda Europe) this morning;

Anil,

As regards the delivery date, this has not changed. You will still get your vehicle in the specified month.

We are in the process of allocating the customer pre-orders, once this process has been completed we can give you the eta on your actual vehicle.

I am informed that we had anticipated completing this last week, however we have had resource issues (key members of staff were unfortunately absent) within Mazda UK which has resulted in us missing this deadline.

Again, please rest assured that this will not affect the delivery date of your vehicle and we will write to you as soon as is feasibly possible.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Kind regards

Deby

Well if they are In the process of allocating cars to customer orders, that must mean some cars have now been allocated.

From what I understand as soon as this has been done your car info. will be available to your dealer on their (highly advanced ) computer system.

Assuming some cars have now been allocated, and they are not doing it first on the back of a *** packet, I suggest we all try our dealers and ask them to check their systems for our orders, especially those with a low EP number.

I'm will give my dealer a call tomorrow and ask him to check his system to see if I've been allocated a car yet. (EP312)

I spoke to my dealer yesterday and only their demonstrator was shown on the system.

Also he seemed to think the firts customer cars would not be available until the middle of November (god I hope he is wrong)
