Have a look here: http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=67145461&highlight=wheel+repairs You'll see a few on the GC for you. -pete Lock & Load 09-28-2003, 11:21 PM Pete (rpm pwr ) Thanks for that info , i will definetely get them looked at , even though you can hardly see the damage , i know its there. michael mikeb 09-29-2003, 12:06 AM thats the worst when even if no one else sees it you do And when you look at your car its all you see You should be able to get it fixed for pretty cheap good luck danRX8man 10-02-2003, 11:27 AM I have a three inch section of curb rash -- very small, but the shops in the DC/VA area want around $135 to repair it. Ouch! Is anyone seeing similar price estimates? LTAGFERN 10-02-2003, 02:12 PM I, also, have a 3.5 inch "cement curb rash" on my right front rim. (Turning left into a 'protected' parking space and, apparently, while beginning the left turn, the edge of the rim & tire contacted the curb as the wheel 'extended' beyond the wheelbase. I heard sort of a rubbery thump and thought I had run over a piece of thick twig. Parked, went back to see what I had run over, nothing there, really puzzled until I examined the wheel. I still don't understand how I could have been that close to the curb!!! Just don't understand!!) Is a wheel 'surface rash' (very outside edge of the rim in my case) repairable? Can it be machine buffed away somehow? Or is this a boo-boo I will continue to accept (MY BAD!!) and live with? mikeb 10-02-2003, 02:54 PM my last car I bought racing hart rims used and they were in terriable condition. I had all 4 brought back to life for 400 bucks at a shop called custom wheel service here in cali Irish_in_a_RX8 10-06-2003, 03:29 PM I scratched my back rim last week - It was just a scratch - buffed it alittle and used stock touchup paint. Wing 10-06-2003, 04:27 PM They refinish the entire wheel, that's why it is so expensive, they usually don't just do a touchup. |
