Uhh, not sure this belongs here, but I don't know where else to post it....

My dealer was apparently supposed to install the metal clip under the driver's side seat that secures the floormat before delivering the car to me, but didn't. I was trying to install it yesterday, but it looks like I'll have to take the whole damn seat off to do so. I popped the plastic plate in front off and found the bolt that the clip connects to, but there's no way to get a screwdriver in there to loosen it. I tried taking the a phillips tip from an interchangable screwdriver and I got that in there and it felt like I was turning it, but it didn't loosen at all. Any easy shortcuts before I remove the seat?

It's not threaded (the receptacle that is, the screw thing is threaded), just use a flat head from the side and pry it up.

I wish I had learned of that much earlier as I did remove my entire driver seat only to find out afterwards that I could've just popped the clip out.

i just did this today and took a little figuring out, i took a knob ratchet with a philips and it started unscrewing, once you loosen it a little bit (may have to hold down the plastic part it screws into) you can thumb the screw out the rest of the way =). then pull out hte plastic bit, put it through the hole in bracket, stick it hole in floor and press the screw in =) nice snug fit

it's a good thing too, the drivers side floormat kept sliding forward ><

Sweet. Thanks to all that replied. I probably should've figured that out.... It sounds like the same type of clips holding the plastic around the wheel well on (removed those to install the snaps for the bra). I'll play with it tonight. Thanks again!
