Took it to the dealer, my transmission that was making the funny noises from an earlier post in the "issues" forum was actually a bearing that broke and also the engine lost some kind of bolt and ended up leaking oil to the point of destruction. Fortunatly, it was all covered under warranty.

That's terrible. I hope they take good care of you. Can you find out more information about what the failure modes were. I'd like to find out what the bearing failure was and what kind of bolt can out of the engine. The only thing I can think of is the throw out bearing for the clutch and flywheel bolts that could result from a TO bearing failure. However, that should not lead to an engine problem directly.

I'm glad I didn't read this 3-4 days ago. I just made a road trip from Phoenix to Indy in my 04 VR. 1780 miles in 24 hours of driving (2 days). Averaged 74 miles an hour including all pit stops for fuel and potty breaks. Averaged over 20 mpg too with sunshine most of the way.

That sucks. Wonder which bolt that came loose.
could have been as simple as the oil pan plug.

Throw out bearing sounds more like what he told me (I was running late to work so im not sure). The other thing was that the engine blew from a leak being cause by some kind of loose bolt.

Who is working on the car (Karl or Mike)?

EDIT: Never mind. Its Karl. You have nothing to worry about. (Hopefully, the reman motor you get this time will be one of the good ones.)

Your clutch release bearing failed. That has nothing to do with the motor, though.
The re-man motor you have now is just leaking oil from one of the tension bolt seals. It won't hurt anything, but it is considered an "engine failure" and Mazda does not allow their techs to do ANYTHING mechanical to the motor. If one of those bolts are leaking, the whole motor goes into a crate and a fresh one is dropped in.
Basically, anything in the 9999-95-E13B-MSP manual is off limits on a warranty motor.

It will be a re-man. It will be a motor that was used and then rebuilt, just like the motor you already have in the car now.
Hopefully, it will be better.
