Hey all, been lurking here for a while (along with many other forums) and finally decided on the 8 as my car of choice. Just waiting on delivery, should be here the middle of next week. Went with the AT/Touring pkg in black. My choices came down to the 8 and the S2000. But driving a 6sp around in rush hour traffic with a bum knee just didn't appeal to me, not to mention the complete lack of practicality with the S2000. The dealer was kind enough to give me a new Mazda 6s as a loaner til my 8 shows up. Not to shabby for a car to beat around in for 4 or 5 days :p . Anyway just sayin hey.

They gave you the Mazda 6 because you have no other car to drive?

nice loaner car. My dealer told me if I sell my current car a couple weeks early that they would take care of me.....hmmm....wonder if I could get a Mazda6 too? You know when I hear about people who walk in and get the car they want in a few days it makes me crazy! I hate waiting......I guess Silver in auto is tough to come by here in Illinois. Hoping to get car in a month...ordered AUG. 8th! Have fun and enjoy...you lucky........!

Boy, hang onto that dealer like grim death. After all the dealer horror stories we've read, here's one truly focused on customer service (what a concept!)
Check this out: I got my car in the first shipment, received July 17. Didn't even have to order it; someone else walked out of his deal, I took it over, got the car 3 weeks after giving my deposit to the dealer. It was outfitted exactly as I would have ordered it myself: Nav, GT, colors, everyting. For once in my life I got lucky! People who ordered car back in March got theirs weeks after me. :D

Sweet......nice you got the exact car you wanted because someone else didn't get the deal done. I figure I have to sell my car first anyway so I guess it works out. Well, I hope it does.....I have only had a couple leads off Autotrader.com in the couple weeks I have had it listed...a month to go and I am nervous...if I give it to the dealer I would lose a bunch of $$. The only thing I think would lessen the blow is if they come down on the RX 8. This is what I get for being so crazed over this car! Well, the hubby won't do it if we lose too much anyway......so we shall see.
