Just checked the Mazdaspeed site - they show two exhausts: a SINGLE muffler sport exhaust and a DUAL muffler sport exhaust. Anybody know the difference in performance and noise between these two?

I waded through the exhaust sticky, but didn't see anything.

The goal is power (yep, know it's only a couple of HP), and low-medium noise at cruise. Noise at high rpm OK. Car has less than 2000 mi, so keeping the warranty is a good thing.

Was thinking of doing cold air intake/sport exhaust together.

I have the dual on my 05 AT. From my understanding the dual is louder and has a different sound than the single, but i've never heard the single so i don't know. Under light throttle it has kind of a rumble. It can really scream at higher rpms. Only annoyance I've noticed is kind of a drone when cruising around 70mph or so. But if you have a manual your rpms would probably be different, so your drone might be at a different speed.

Overall I am very happy with the exhaust. Seemed to provide a bit of a power gain, but that is probably more psychological than anything.

Search is your friend and I won't be the last person to tell you that.
On that note, I have the single can. It's quiet in normal driving but howls like a F355 when you're on it. Verrrrrry nice. no drone. Thinking of pairing it with a supercat but worried I'll lose the elegant sound.

The dual is lighter and louder.

I have the dual-can, and I'm happy with it. I don't know much about the single-muffler, but I can tell you the dual is lighter...that's what sold me.

the Single has been discountined, at least for the US market. You might be able to find some, but its kinda hard.

Single has a more *OEM-Like* sound, its abit louder only when you WOT.

Dual like the otheres said, has a different sound than stock, and its louder than stock no matter what throttle you're in.

i got the duel, i love it. sounds stock at an idle. and screams when u want it to. i have not noticed any drone realy. (my last car was an srt4 with strait pipes) so my opinion could differ.

go with dual can and then get a high flow cat instead of a intake : D

I used to have the dual can exhaust which is the second version of the MS Exhaust... To be honest i'm really not a fan of their exhausts, too quiet and the tips aren't really that attractive. not to mention the first version didn't do squat.... If you have the money I would dish out and get the B&B exhaust, I love it!!! or try racingbeat, Corksport, Borla....
