So i took my car to Galpin Mazda on Roscoe off the 405 for services a few weeks ago, and when i go to pick up the car later in the day, I see all these scratches on the driver side door. I got pissed, i told them about it, had to inconveniently take it back again for them to fix it. So, that was that.

Yesterday, I took the car there again (biting my nails again the whole time) for some other service. When the car was ready, i found another freaKIN scratch with a dent on the driver side door!

Seriously, wtF!? I dunno what to do, i want to write a complaint but where do you guys suggest i write it to? Or if you have any other suggestions please let me know. This whole ordeal PISSED ME off and i'm sure it'd do the same to you.

That sucks... they're wasting your time and theirs seeing as they have to put the time in to fix it... You can call MNAO (mazda north american operations) and give them the info. Dealers might suck, but the HQ seems to try. good luck

I believe he's in California (I assume from him mentioning the 405).

MNAO doesn't give a crap about anything. i had similar complaints against alhambra mazda and they basically told me in a not-so-polite tone of voice that each dealership is individually owned & operated and that they have no oversight and that if i have a problem w/ a dealership to take it up w/ that dealership's management. a LOT of f'g help they were. i almost got into a full-blown shouting match with the asshole on the phone. (MNAO can go f themselves for all i care...)

that said, i am sorry to hear about this BS ed... who was your service advisor? i went to Galpin just a month or two ago to have some stuff fixed too. i am debating trying out Sierra Mazda in Monrovia for my 7k mile service. have u ever gone there? i wonder if they're any good.

p.s. stay the f away from alhambra mazda as well- unless u like scratches, dings, and other bs done to your car during service. unless it's an extreme emergency, they will never ever get my business ever again.

roscoe blvd is in van nuys, california.. in los angeles basically.

i'm gonna go in today to talk to the manager. the thing is i want some kind of incentive for taking up my damn time from school and work. should i just ask for an incentive?

and no, galpin in van nuys is the only dealer i've gone to

I'd be happy to just have them fix the problems, and never return again. I doubt they'll do much in the way of compensation (other than attempting to fix the problem)... maybe a free oil change or something, but I doubt they (or anyone) would go much further beyond that.

Hope it works out for you. That sucks for sure.

MNAO was really helpful to me, the thing you have power over is the dealer review score. When you get the questionaire about how the service was, you can destroy their scores by giving them bad scores. i don't know what this does exactly but i do know it is very important to each dealership. So what i would do is let them know you're about to let MNAO how horrible your experience, MNAO will pressure the dealership to take care of you, and as far as my experience has been, they will.

I originally went to Galpin Mazda in Van nuys to buy my RX8 and they were the biggest bunch of a#*holes I have ever met. I was prepared to buy out in Thousand Oaks when Galpin Mazda in Valencia contacted me and when I told them how I was treated they did everything to get me to but the 8. So far, they have been great. Get a hold of MNAO and let them know what happened. I had to deal with them once and the results were well worth my time. If you don't mind a bit af a drive I would reccommend the Galpin Mazda up in Valencia. We are most likely going to get our CX-9 there too

I got my 8 there a couple weeks ago and I gotta say they're f'in horrible. Try another dealership after this is resolved... You should be able to get some good recommendations in the West coast forum if you ask there.

So far it seems that Sierra Mazda at least tries. This from my friend that owns a Mazda 5 (I only go to the dealership for recalls and warranty work). The key is to tell your service adviser to check off all scratches that he sees on the car before accepting it since you will be checking it afterwards. When you get the car back, inspect it throughly before you even touch it at the dealership.

RX8ED, so sorry to hear about this, but I'm a little surprised since I've been very pleased (so far - knock on wood) with Galpin Mazda. I had issues with Galpin previously but the service technician I had issues with is now gone and the new service technician who replaced him has been great. I have been going to Kevin and he has been very nice and attentive to me. Maybe you can call him?
