Brettus 05-15-2007, 09:52 PM its just that this is about the most asked question on the forum & there is so much discussion on it here that some people get tired of answering it . Just use the oil recomended by the dealer & you will be fine . dillsrotary 05-15-2007, 09:53 PM not at all, the fact that he continues to completely ignore what everyone is saying. The answers are here but he refuses to just travel throughout the forum and read up on the car he bought. This is maybe his 8th thread that i bet will just get the same answers asking him to search and read. Post count has nothing to do with it. Click the search button and type "oil", you'll have everything you need in a matter of seconds. I have absolutely no problem helping people out and also glady answer PM's that people send me, but if you refuse to do any reading yourself and depend on others to continue to give you answers to the simple/common/broad questions that can be easily found and help YOU learn about your car then you will not have any help. 240sxdm 05-15-2007, 09:54 PM yeah but thats what a forums is to be posted you guys are a bunch of assholes Easy_E1 05-15-2007, 10:02 PM Because the old timers ( high post counts ) are the smartest people in the world, or at lease this forum. True Anyway ,,,, Castrol 5W-20 Do you not have an Owners Manual? It has an abundance of information in it. Start with that, then you can have a bit more knowledge of the car and how it works. Saving yourself the embarrassment of asking a question that has been asked about 1,000,000 times. Then when you can't find an answer about what the gap between the side seal and corner seal then feel free to ask the question. Next would be to try the "SEARCH" button on the top of the page. That has all kinds of information on any question you could think of about the Rotary and the RX-8 in general. Enjoy the forum. And remember,,, The Lord helps those that help themselves. deadphoenix52 05-15-2007, 10:04 PM i use vegetable oil. You can't sterotype the whole forum for their assholiness (if thats a word) but as a fellow new commer it is like this on any car forum, people just get really annoyed by seeing the same threads over and over again. And for future references the you could probably find all your answers to technical problems in the "tech garage," there is a reason for sub-forums. dillsrotary 05-15-2007, 10:19 PM nice rims big red, i see you bite the bullet and got them. def post pics. Now get me some pie. :slap: JK Brettus 05-15-2007, 10:43 PM nah - toast is what you need . toast is the new pie ..... PerformRX-8 05-15-2007, 10:46 PM corn oil is the best!!! you get the smell of french fries  Huskyfan23 05-15-2007, 11:00 PM To answer your question in a no-bullshit manner: 5w20 is the only motor oil you should use with this car. No synthetic, ever. Keep a case of 5w20 in your trunk. The 8 burns up oil quicker than other vehicles, so it's good to have it handy. Check the oil every couple of fill - ups for the first couple of months, until you determine exactly how far you can go without adding more. Hope this helps! And yeah, if you don't want to get flamed hit the "search" button on the top of the page. swoope 05-15-2007, 11:15 PM yeah but thats what a forums is to be posted you guys are a bunch of assholes have we not been through this before.. yes we can be assholes, but we have the answers.. o wait we have the answers, because we took the time to find them... duh. in a moment of weakness i will throw you a bone.. 1 read the fing owners manual.. 90% of stupid ?s are covered there.. 2 http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting.php 3 read the stickys 4 use step 2 and type oil into the search engine. 5 read everything in step 4. 6 problem solved. you will write a long oil post and and not ask any more stupid ?s. http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?p=1872358#post1872358 http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?p=1870670#post1870670 http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?p=1870598#post1870598 http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?p=1870598#post1870598 crossfire beers  refugeefrompistons 05-15-2007, 11:19 PM wats the point of oil in the car? i use pig fat Icemark 05-15-2007, 11:20 PM The 8 burns up oil quicker than other vehicles, actually all rotary engines burn oil, but its oil consumption is still less than any mid 90's GM V8. Huskyfan23 05-15-2007, 11:24 PM actually all rotary engines burn oil, but its oil consumption is still less than any mid 90's GM V8. lol, sorry. I meant to say "burns oil quicker than most other vehicles" My bad. :) 8 Maniac 05-15-2007, 11:47 PM yeah but thats what a forums is to be posted you guys are a bunch of assholes well, I'd say a forum is a place to find answers and discuss... but if you werent supposed to search for any answers the search function wouldnt exist... and I'd say it's not too unreasonable to assume that there has been a discussion on a car forum about oil... that being said, 5w20 is good.. synthetics are fine it seems, some people dont use it just because the dealer says so and dont want to risk it, but rotarygod and others can testify that there shouldnt be any issues with synthetics. many here use royal purple, including myself, and have no issues. hope this helps, try searching around, tons of info already here in detail about what you asked rotarygod 05-15-2007, 11:58 PM This topic has been beat to death and a definitive conclusion proven a long time ago. We need go no farther in this thread. slalom29 05-15-2007, 11:58 PM I really don't understand why some of you people feel it's necessary to criticize other posts for no reason. I just want you to realize that you could easily see the thread and ignore it, but instead you have to stop and criticize. I thought about and maybe you just have too much time on your hands, get a life and grow up, this forum is supposed to be helpful. |
