ARGH!!!

I went to the favorite restaurant of all pirates (Arrrrby's) today for lunch and unwittingly parked under one of the parking lot light poles. After lunch I walked out to the car to find it completely bombed by some pigeons. UGH.... At least I know the Zaino is working because as it splattered, it beaded up to dry. I think I might drive home for an emergency quick car wash. I can't be styling on the "ave" with a bunch of bird crap all over my blue 8! I just may buy a shotgun and keep it in my trunk.

I hear you. Everytime I wash the car it's got bird poo on it shortly afterwards. And yesterday and today at the office there's a red cardinal that insists on fighting with itself in the drivers side mirror. Already put a scratch in the paint. Gonna have to keep those fodled in for a while I guess.

At least they don't divebomb your car like little kamikazes :p

Just be VERY GLAD you don't have an STI hood scoop, its 3 times the size :) Could get a whole family of birds in there.

Don't get me wrong, I love the WRX :)

After I wash and wax the car, there is this cat in the neighborhood who gets its paws all muddy; walks the length of the car from back to front and then slides down the windscreen. Not that I've ever seen it . . . just the muddy paw prints in the morning. Bloody annoying, but I guess that it's fun :)

Hey teh WORST bird uh, droppings are Pelicans. Years ago we were in St. Pete FL crossing the 'bridge" when a Pelican went on our windshield. We nearly wrecked. It was like someone dumped a pail of mud!

damn, that's like an urban myth. it's some kind of unwritten rule that after you clean your car, and it's sparkling clean, something like bird crap has to make your car dirty. i hate that crap...litteraly.

There is only one thing worse.

I had a friend in college who did his undergrad at Baylor down in Texas. One day he is shooting down the road going back to school when a . . . buzzard sees him and takes flight from the road kill that it was currently dining on. Well, they're kind of big birds, and it takes them a little while to get airborne. It was just at windshield height when he popped it. It went right through the windshield and into the back seat . . . fortunately not injuring anyone, but this wasn't the worste of it. It then proceeded to die. Violently; DIE. The thing about buzzards is that they only have half a digestive track, so what comes out leaves where it came in. The bird evacuated itself all over the car before it expired. The stench never left the vehicle, and they had to total it. Couldn't sell it; couldn't fix it. It was undrivable (also wasn't worth much anyhow), but that would be worse than the pelican, although that sounds pretty damned nasty too.

Reminds me of that Seinfield episode - they could not get rid of a smell in Jerrys car, eventually had to sell it!

Yeah, sorry. I probably should have kept it to myself, but that story has had me laughing for years. Cruel of me I know, but it does crack me up.

edit:
I just posted this and was wondering... Are Buzzards the same as Vultures? If they are then leave the above alone, but if not, I meant Buzzards, yeah thats what I meant to type... Buzzards.

Beats me. When I started to write it I said vultures too then I remembered that he called it a buzzard so I figured that that's what came through the window. Either way, I'm not thinkin' about this ANY more . . . still cracks me up though ;)

Interesting bit of info:

Birds actually do aim for newly washed cars. It seems that they're more shiny, so they're more likely to hurt the birds' eyes. So they aim for it to try to stop it from shining at them.

...Are Buzzards the same as Vultures?...

Where I grew up (rural VA, 50 mi south of DC) we had "Buzzards", but they were technically Turkey Vultures. Here's what Mirriam-Webster has to say:

"2 : any of various usually large birds of prey (as the turkey vulture)"
