buy a prius

to quote someone else here... you KNEW or SHOULD HAVE KNOWN about the milage when you bought this car. and you didnt buy it for the miles per gallon, you bought it for the smiles per gallon.

i smell a troll....

You should have the dealer look at that. I have so much money coming out of mine I had to get the Greddy SP2 with 4" tips.

Lol Expo, you need to attach a basket to you exhaust so you don't loose it all while you drive.

Swoope I take it this idiot posted lost a noob stupid questions... oh wait I just looked at his old posts. Ye gads man. He must be lucky to have gotten this far with so little flaming.

like others have said -- you should have done your homework before you signed on the dotted line.

Yes there are times when i realize I only get 220 miles to a tank, and that tank cost me almost 50 bucks. But then i realize I bought a sports car, and then a nice jab on the throttle in 2nd gear all the way to 9K makes me forget about the crappy milage because after that I'm smiling again.

If you want milage -- go buy a fuel efficient diesel. Granted that's hard to find here in the US because we are wusses on diesel. The Prius isnt the holy grail of milage - its ugly, expensive, and despite what most people thing isnt going to save our planet, but at least you'd have the right to sniff your own farts if you bought one.

Make you feel better on the gas guzzling!!

Hello,

Just to make you feel better, petrol (Gas) is $10.00 a gallon here in my town in the north east of England!! Other parts of the country it gets up around $11-$12.00 The RX-8's came with a Health Warning for your wallet here in the U.K. on collection of your car!!!LOL I knew it, I still test drove it, I sighned and bought one anyway!! Took it too the petrol station yesterday and for £30/ roughly $60 it was a couple of clicks of the half a tank. Still took it for a good thrashing though!!! As someone said quite rightly, "Its the smiles not the miles" and the best part is still having more expensive sportscar owners looking her up and down (the car that is!!)

Regards,

Darran.

I wish my rx-8 will spurt cash out of its twin exhaust pipes!!!! If you can prove that cold hard Benjis are coming out of your rx8's pipes I will buy your car.

u guys should probably stop getting upset at the gas mileage threads. It's probably the biggest drawback of the car and now with gas at 4 bucks a gallon ( well i paid 3.99), it's a huge issue that will draw big complaints.

I found it hilarious in the latest car and driver with the comparo between the rx8, 350, tt and mustang the rx8 was the slowest and it drank more gas then the mustang lol.

Mine spends most of it's time in the garage and i use my gmc sierra 1500 5.7l v8 for everyday use as it gets better gas mileage. So sad.

I still love the car, but i definitely feel people on these gas consumption threads that pop up every hour.

well for me, I was told 25 to a gallon, never got nr that, more like 21/22 and as it is now £5-00 or 10 dollars per gallon, in the states, you might have something to whine about to.

and ???? Where has all these jerks come from, I remember these forums being useful and helpful, now 75% posts are just **** talking jerks, who have no respect and trash every thread

ouch.... tough crowd... I'm a newbie myself but dayuuuum you cats are rough...

I'll admit that I was expecting 19 maybe 20 mpg... I only have 2000 miles on my 8 and I've averaged 17mpg... I just started using cruise control so maybe that will have a better impact... It's those few times that I hear that beep sound that tells me $$$$$$ ;-)

Poor gas mileage is status quo in my garage:
Chevy Avalanche
Lincoln Aviator
Mazda Rx-8

Just for giggles, I hit the new search - take the defaults, and put in "mpg".

when you're in a thread and hit search and fill into the default box, it will just search for the keyword in this thread only.

Learn how to search is the key.
